What customers say
Quiet campsite in a wooded valley by a stream. Huts & pitches are great. Facilities are super clean (hot showers!). Peaceful escape with good walks. Very relaxing, though access roads can be tight. Minor points on lights/bins. Highly recommended for a quiet break.

All in all great walking break. Weather was kind as well.
Herdwick shepherd's hut
Liked 1st time in a Shepherds hut, not disappointed, very nice pitch 👍 Great setting. We came to walk on the Devon coast to coast, good location. Affordable with optional extras. Ideal for mini breaks.
Shower worked well.
Disliked Entrance road could be improved.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Excellent location, peaceful and quiet, set in a dartmoor valley with a small stream running through. Plenty of toilets and showers which were always clean. Fire pit which each pitch was a brilliant touch. Pub only a short walk away and Holne village even closer with shop.

Liked The pitch was lovely and big and plenty to chose from when we arrived all the facilities were clean hot water was great for dishwashing can't comment in showers
The setting was beautiful and my son loved playing around in the river.
Disliked The bins were very full but thats not really a fault its just what happens sometimes.

One of the best campsites I hv ever been to. Would love to go again.
Swaledale shepherd's hut
Liked The Shepherd huts are nicely spaced with comfortable private spaces for each. I fell in love with the stream running close to the huts. Toilets are well maintained and clean. Heating the room with the wood stove was an altogether different experience.
Disliked Lightly bruised the front of my car at a stone used as a fence.
Need to be careful if reaching there at night as it is not properly lit.

Good site location with nice facilities
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Pitches were level, washing up facilities were great, toilets and showers were clean. Good location for Buckfast Abbey and Dartmoor
Disliked First pitch we tried was waterlogged and we got stuck in the mud. Took a long time to get out to find a safe place to park. Definitely recommend getting out and investigating spaces for firm ground before parking after rain

Gorgeous pitch and high quality/well looked after facilities.
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Such a beautiful space to camp. Such a lot of space. Although it's a quiet time of year, the pitches are huge, and I imagine that at no time would you feel too close to other campers. Surrounded by beautiful woodland, grazing sheep, a babbling brook and owl vocals, I slept extremely well.
The showers and other facilities are simple yet really comprehensively constructed and maintained with a lot of care (I especially appreciated the signs for the showers and toilets!). The shower was wonderful....warm and powerful. Every pitch has a spot to have a fire and there is wood for sale for £5 a bag. I loved it so much, I came back for a second night, which hadn't been part of the original plan.

Liked Lovely and quiet, great location with the stream running through. 2 pubs within a short walk, and moorland close. The shower and toilet block always very clean.
This time we had some pony friends pay us a visit, usually its just the birds!!
We stay quite often, and look froward to returning soon.
