  • Family-friendly park 10 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Covering 56 acres including a dedicated dog area
  • Pool, play zones, clubhouse and fish and chip takeaway
There’ll be plenty of time for monkey business in this family-friendly site… Surrounded by a whopping 56 acres of countryside and a fab place for taking toddlers, Monkey Tree Holiday Park is 10 minutes from Perranporth and its huge open beach, as well as the lively surf centre of Newquay. As you might already (luckily) know, the north coast of Cornwall is tiptop for beaches – Newquay's famed for its world-class waves and heady nightlife, while Perranporth has kayaking and hovercrafting to get adventurously stuck into, and top-notch coastal walks on either side of the beach. Back at base, catch a few pages of your book while the kids splash about in the outdoor heated pool complex… or while they join in with the packed entertainment schedule for juniors (there's a talented in-house entertainment team on hand with a daily kids' club and Funky Monkey putting in a regular appearance). On top of that, a maze of net walkways, slides and ball pools means that younger guests will have plenty to keep them entertained, whatever the weather. Food's sorted with the on-site clubhouse and restaurant, and fish and chip takeaway (fish and chips + seaside = essential). Or fire up the barbecue instead: hit up the camp store for the essentials, or head to the grocery store 10 minutes away.

Electric grass pitch

Liked The site had everything you would need, the shop held almost everything. Good food options and entertainment programme! There was always something to do. The pool is spectacular, easy to mistake the place for Spain. We had amazing weather so the swimming pool was incredible for us. We also liked how the sessions were set up, long enough to enjoy before the kids were worn out and moody.

Disliked The shower facilities were the most disappointing part of the stay by far. Although they were relevantly clean, the water pressure made it near impossible to have a wash. To the point that it was literally dripping and nothing was getting wet enough.. I’m not sure if it was because how many people etc because we were there at a popular time, but it wasn’t busy when I went at 5pm.. and still the same..if not worse.
With young children, the sweat, food and sand, this would potentially stop us coming back. Really disappointing considering how good the rest of the site is.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch (super)

Liked We booked the super pitch and it was lovely because it was very quiet and there was plenty of space. The pitch was close to the toilet and shower facilities which was great for us as the kids are still young so we didn’t have to go too far. They loved the evening entertainment and got to have a hug and high five with funky monkey every evening. They were so happy getting a picture with him. The weather was a bit wet and windy but the pool was heated so we still made the most of it even with the rain.

Disliked The only thing that we would have liked that could have made the stay better is an indoor pool. Even without this, we had the best time

Site is beautiful with plenty of activities.…

Liked Site is beautiful with plenty of activities.

Disliked Bought our own pool float to be told it’s too big so bought a new one for the baby from the shop which was the same size and manager couldn’t tell us why we couldn’t use ours when it was the same dimensions as the one bought in shop. Felt like a scam.

Spacious flat pitches, hedges surrounding, great privacy. Loads to do on site,…

Electric grass pitch

Liked Spacious flat pitches, hedges surrounding, great privacy. Loads to do on site, mini golf, swimming pool, arcades. Bar, restaurant and shop on site. Well maintained by staff. Toilets, showers, waste disposal immaculate. Short bus trip or taxi to perranporth which has amazing beach, walks and shops. Would definitely be coming back here again.

Disliked Nothing, apart from no footpaths directly to coast. Road is too busy to walk along. But bus or taxi regularly.

Nice by very pricey and very noisy.

Electric grass pitch (comfort)

Liked The look of the place is amazing, the plants are kept beautifully and the swimming pool looks lovely too. The park is great and both myself and my friend’s children loved it. Well kept pitches also.

Disliked Before arrival we asked to be placed near to our friends who were staying at the same time. We were told it would be a £5 charge per night that’s £55 to be next to someone we had booked to come away with. We didn’t pay and when we arrived plenty of pitches were empty but they had still placed us a camp away from each other. This felt a little like it had been done on purpose as we didn’t pay the £55 each.
We were near to the facilities which came with the downfall of the summer nights bar which was empty playing music one night until 12:30 in the morning. It was a very noisy site often with people wandering around shouting late at night, having children which are noisy this didn’t bother us much however I felt like the loud music playing to nobody wasn’t necessary.
I also found it difficult to understand why my child with a life vest on and two adults with him couldn’t be allowed into the deep end of the pool with us. I feel as thought this stopped us using the pool as unless it was hot weather the pool is extremely shallow so it would get very cold very quickly. Crazy gold was expensive so we never used it. One morning we did wake up to with no water in any of the toilet blocks and washing up areas which was inconvenient but couldn’t be helped and this was fixed by the afternoon. The shop was very pricey but there are local supermarkets which can be used instead.

A very well maintained site perfect for all , good clean facilities

Liked The beautiful flowers on entry and throughout the whole park a very neat well kept park, the swimming pool was well staffed was a wonderful place for all,The staff extremely helpful from reception to the bar staff and everyone in between

Disliked Pitches were difficult to find it wasn’t easy to find your spot
Also for campers and motor homes if you don’t book a pitch with waste facilities you we’re screwed as there wasn’t an area made for this , you car wash your car but not to empty

Liked Lovely place, swimming pools were great and facilities were very clean and tidy, well done to everyone involved

Disliked We payed for a fully serviced pitch but the drain for waste water was block and couldn't use it, told reception 3 times before anything was done and was told they need to dig up the pitch we were on to sort it so didn't have what we paid for really 🤔

Local attractions

Cornwall’s coastline and beaches are pretty much legendary, but Newquay (10 minutes) is world-famed for its surf and nightlife too. It’s a party town from daybreak until well after dark and the surf's so good they hold international competitions here – check out Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. Perranporth (10 minutes) is the place to head for a more relaxed beach day, though it’s very popular so best to get your towel down early. The beach here is a fab spot for dog walking, rolling up the trousers for a paddle or lazing around and copping a look at the views. The Eden Project (35 minutes) has the UK’s most realistic rainforest, full of rare plant species and exotic butterflies, as well as a pretty nifty Mediterranean biome. Daredevils can also have a go on England’s longest zipwires – or head over to Flambards in Helston (45 minutes) for flumes, rollercoasters and go karting.
