What customers say
Lovely, peaceful wild camping spot in a stunning natural setting, with guests loving the reservoir for swimming and paddleboarding. Pitches are generous and well-apart. Facilities are basic (bucket showers, portaloos), but generally clean. Some wished for better portaloos, and reservoir banks can be slick. Great walks, a pub nearby, and hosts are often called friendly and helpful.

Liked Such a lovely team, everyone was so welcoming. The site itself was beautiful and the reservoir was such a great addition to our trip for all of us. The facilities were well maintained and clean. Honestly the best campsite we have used in the UK so far as a family and will 100% keep coming back!

Would go back in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone to go stay there
Tennis Wells non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The fields are lovely and spacious, the toilets are clean, the views are spectacular, the lake was amazing, we spent hours out there on kayaks, sup boards, inflatables and just swimming, it’s like a little slice of heaven!
Disliked The only thing I would recommend, and it’s not a dislike about the place, but a bucket shower by the lake to wash the clay off would be amazing, the clay is so thick and hard to get off if you could wash as soon as you got out of the lake it would make the experience even better.

Great value, perfectly basic to really escape & shut off.
Tennis Wells non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The views, the size of pitch (huge!) the environmentally-friendly facilities like the incredibly refreshing and revitalising bucket showers, surrounding walks, the sunflowers filling the neighbouring fields, the hammock seat, the firepit and wood (great value for two nights camping we thought) and the three horseshoes pub
Disliked Small thing, but not all loos had sanitiser topped up. After our first day I had to keep popping into one of the two other loos adjacent to get some to clean my hands

Tennis Wells non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Such a beautiful hidden gem for you to wild camp. Kids can run free and explore and the stars at night are stunning. Toilets were well clean and we didn’t take on a bucket shower! The nearby pub was lovely- walk is up a steep hill! Lovely little stay.

Tennis Wells non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Reservoir was really fun, kids had a great time. Atmosphere at camp site was very fily friendly. Staff super helpful. Aromatic leaves in the portable loos was a nice addition as they were quite smelly in the heat.
Disliked The bucket showers were very cold but that can't be helped.

A lovely stay!
Struttons non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Quiet campsite and great facilities
Disliked The water level in the lakes was a bit low which made it hard to get in and out. Maybe a floating jetty would be popular to allow people to get in and out without getting covered in clay!
