Lower Hyde Holiday Park

Liked We had a fantastic stay at Lower Hyde Holiday Park. The safari tent was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, making it a great place to relax. The park was peaceful, family-friendly, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The facilities were excellent, and the location was perfect for exploring Shanklin and the beautiful Isle of Wight. We would definitely recommend it and can't wait to return.

Liked The site is lovely, we were quite near the toilets and shower block although i still had to drive there due to mobility issues. They were clean and the shower was lovely and hot and a stool supplied in there which was a relief. We would definitely go again. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and allowed us to check in early as it wasnt busy.

Disliked The price for 1 and a half pints of coke in the diner over £8 which we thought was expensive. We had a traditional breakfast and we weren't impressed. It was £20.99 for the 2 with a flat white coffee each. The breakfast was mushrooms, fried egg, 1 sausage, bacon, hash brown and beans. The mushrooms were stone cold, the hash brown was soggy too. The breakfast wasnt cooked fresh, it had clearly been nuked in a microwave. I wouldn't order that again. I was going to complain but we were just so hungry we put up and shut up.

Liked Good space. Walkable to seafront. Close to facilities. Clean.
Didn’t use anything like pool or clubhouse which is not our thing.

Disliked Shanklin itself was a disappointment- but the campsite can’t do anything about that!!!

Liked The kids entertainment work so hard

Disliked Dirty showers that don’t drain so your stood in people muck! Toilets dirty and this is at all times of the day.
Security (yes security) stood around and don’t even acknowledge you.
Good overpriced crap and drinks expensive

Liked Location was great shanklin was a lovely area with lots to do around the island. Club house was great and loads of space

Disliked Asked to be next the toilet block as I’m disabled and was told wasn’t available and was put on the other side of the site even tho there wasn’t anyone on site the whole time we was there. Rain was terrible and the pitch was very poor with mud and rain destroying our pitch and equipment ended up leaving a day earlier due to this

Liked We thought the toilets and showers were clean and tidy, staff were friendly and helpful definitely stay there again,we felt safe and comfortable

Disliked The shop on site to buy essentials was expensive considering you have a lidle next door thought prices could of been price matched

Liked Plenty to do. Attractive campsite setting. Good location. Large, level and well placed pitches. Entertainment and arcades were good.

Disliked Cleanliness of shower & toilet area was poor. The mens and the womens areas looked like they needed a deep clean. It was not pleasant to use. The floor was dirty, lime scale was abundant and there was hair on the walls.

Liked It was a lovely place to hang out and camp. We were in our campervan, there was a great bike path that lead from the site which gave us a fab 25 mile cycle to Godshill and beyond. Entertainment was great, little shop was really handy and close to all the places we wanted to visit.

Disliked Only thing I could mention was the showers weren’t very good - they dribbled out rather than a good power .
