  • Family-friendly pop-up site five minutes’ drive from Milford on Sea
  • Hurst Castle five minutes’ drive; New Forest National Park 10 minutes
  • Dogs welcome; weekly pizza nights; no set pitches
Old-school and family-friendly, Muddycreek Farm is a pop-up site opening for four weeks in the summer to tents and campervans looking for a Hampshire holiday. The site is well placed for both woodland and seaside days, sitting as it does on the edge of the New Forest National Park (10 minutes’ drive) and within a short drive of the shingle beach at Milford on Sea (five minutes, or a 25-minute walk). From Milford on Sea, you can take a panoramic stroll along the cliffside path overlooking the colourful beach huts all the way to Barton on Sea (one hour and 20 minutes). There, you can take a breather on the pebble beach, where you might catch a glimpse of paragliders launching from the cliffs. The site had a laidback vibe and no set pitches, so guests can park and set up where they like, which means it’s easy to camp together with family and friends. Dogs are welcome guests, and campfires are allowed; best of all (arguably), Friday night is pizza night, with a local company making delicious wood-fired, stone-baked discs of dough. Amenities at Muddycreek Farm include hot showers, proper flushing toilets and a washing-up area. There are no hidden extras; you're welcome to bring as many tents, gazebos and cars as you need.

What customers say

Nice big, flat site with loads of space & a chilled vibe. Staff are lekker and helpful, facilities spotless (especially showers). Great spot for hitting the coast and villages. Some say facilities get busy in peak times and there's a bit of noise, but the ponies are a big hit with kids.

Non-electric grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked flat and very large open fields ,plenty of room when we were there (august).Simple no nonsense site . Easy walk down to the milford and keyhaven .

Disliked showers a little temperamental temperature wise (good flow though).Had no queuing issues personally but would imagine with only 4 available and the site nearer to full may be that statement may change.
Entrance is tight and dodgy for getting out of as it is on a bend.

Liked Space and location

Disliked Rudimentary facilities with only marginal capacity for the number of campers.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you found your experience only adequate, as we strive to offer a peaceful stay that many of our guests value. We deliberately keep our numbers low - around half what many other sites allow - so there's plenty of space for both peace and play, especially for children.

We noticed the low score for accommodation, but you provide your own tent? We provide flat ground and plenty of room for your tent/camper.

Our facilities are basic, as is necessary for a pop-up site, but we maintain then to a high standard and clean them several times a day. While it's not possible to clean them after every single use, we are always nearby and happy to respond quickly if anything needs attention.

The low score for Wi-Fi was a little baffling, as we don't provide or advertise Wi-Fi. Many guests come specifically to unplug and get back to nature, though for those who do need to stay connected there's excellent 4G coverage across the site.

We were also surprised by the low score for child-friendliness. One of the things many families like is the open space for children to play freely and safely in the field -feeding the ponies, playing ball games or just enjoying the outdoors with new friends they make on the site. We're less than a mile from a beach and 3 miles from the New Forest with endless opportunities for walks, bike rides, nature and outdoor exploration. What we don't offer is a games room or screens - our focus is on real play, not digital entertainment.

It's always disheartening to receive reviews like this when we put so much time, care, and effort into making the site the best it can be. We're on hand during guests' stays and always happy to help, so its a shame when concerns aren't raised at the time - we'd much rather have the chance to make things right than read about them after.

Non-electric grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely stay on this simple, well run, family-friendly campsite. Location is great. Hosts were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Pop up pizza on Friday night was a highlight - delicious and generous on the toppings. It got busy over the weekend but not so much that it detracted from ourcstay. We didnt envounter any noise issues. Would definitely stay again!

Disliked Not the cheapest but not stupidly expensive either and definitely worth it!

Non-electric grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Site was nice, staff were friendly and was well equipped

Disliked Large group of people pitched up right behind us when everyone else left plenty of space between eachother. They were loud all night and not respectful of us or other campers. We packed up that night and left as our toddler kept getting woken up by them

From the manager: We are so sorry that you were disturbed by a nearby group. We work very hard trying to make sure that everyone observes the 10pm quiet time. We are usually on site and I issue an email to all our campers with my mobile no to call if there is a problem. It's a shame that you didn't let us know so that we could have done something about it.
