  • Glamping site on a farm in Essex, an hour on the train from London
  • Luxury accommodation between an orchard and 20 acres of woodland
  • Five miles to Colchester and Colchester Zoo

Luxury glamping on an Essex farm, close to fishing, woodland walks, peaceful bike rides and the city of Colchester – and all within an hour by train from London. Make for Browning Bros for a countryside weekend with the kids, a loved-up weekend with the other half, or to settle down in rural surroundings around a campfire with a few friends.

Browning Bros is a family-run glamping site on a farm near the village of Great Tey, between an apple orchard and 20 acres of woodland, with loads of space to roam. It's about 10 minutes by car from here to Colchester Zoo.

The well-maintained communal facilities include a games room with table tennis and table football, and bathrooms with flushing toilets and hot showers.

No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Absolutely everything! You can literally turn up with a wash kit; everything else is provided, including really clean towels and bedding. They even provide washing up liquid and tea towels in the fully equipped kitchen. Great location. Not packed with tents so feels quiet even when full. Perfect for kids. Close to pub, curry house, and all the great facilities and sites that Colchester has to offer. We went for the first time last month and returned again this month. We will certainly be regulars.

    Nothing at all.

Facilities were Amazing. Site is so peaceful with a great mix of personal space and communal areas. Me and my 7 year old stayed in the shepherds hut and despite it being April it was cosy with the woodburner on. Would highly recommend and definitely go back.

    Disliked:

Nothing for young children. The games tent is great for older children. Would be great to add a small park of some sort for you get children, then you dont have to worry about leaving site everyday for activities.

The weather helped but the settings were perfect, with a kitchen / showers / toilets on site and beautiful and calming settings. Everyone was given a BBQ and a nice seating / eating area and there was a communal pit fire too

    Great place

    Disliked:

No lock on the outside of my hut, but it looked like I should have come armed with a padlock
