What customers say

A neat, quiet, well-kept small site. Immaculate modern ablutions. Good access, WiFi, secure gate. Nearby pub gets rave reviews for grub. Some traffic/machinery noise, few mirrors in showers. Overall good, many'd come back.

Electric gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked Excellent little site, only 5 pitches, but lovely, we had the site to ourselves for 4 nights, lovely en-suite style facilities. Lovely pub almost next door, just a 2 minute walk, served great food.
Would definitely recommend.
Easy access from the A590, just 5/10 minutes from the M6

Disliked Nothing to dislike, there was some road noise, but it didn’t disturb us at all.

Advertised as fully serviced pitches, but only had electric hook up on the pitch, which made it quite expensive in comparison to other CAMC sites.

Only telephone and email contact with management, but no issues.

Electric gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked Lovely little site of 5 pitches. Toilets very nice and clean next to pub with food. Not too far away from places if you drive. We only have bikes. It us by the main road but thus wasnt a problem for us

Disliked It is £45 a night, I feel a bit excessive. We didn't see any hosts all information sent over by text. There was a phone number to ring if we had any problems though. As the shower and toilet are combined could be a problem if someone needed the only toilet

Electric gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked Very small, convenient for one night stay on the way to Manchester.
Clean and modern bathrooms. Although only one for men and women (separate). So if anyone is in the shower or toilet, other people can't use it.

Disliked Very noisy. Campsite was right on the road. At first, it looked like a small road, but even at night very noisy, loud and fast going cars. Our spot was no 5, so it was like 2-3 meters from that road, so at night it looked like we were sleeping on the street :) We had many stays at other campsite, so this one was the worst (compared to others).
Also the sinks for dishwashing were very deep, not comfortable to wash the dishes. And separate hot and cold faucets... Which doesn't make any sense.

Electric gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked Beautifully presented and maintained site. . Full amenities and new shower block. All the features of a club site really but small and peaceful ( apart from a little road noise).
Great location for touring Lakes and visiting attractions . Easy to find and easy access to site .Pub next door will be a very big plus for many although we didn't eat there. However we did have a pint and had a very friendly welcome.

Disliked Slight road noise as others have mentioned but in the scheme of things very insignificant. Otherwise everything spot on

Electric gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked The pitches were well laid out, all gravel. 2 narrow ones for van without awning and 3 wider ones to include awning. Plenty of space on each pitch. Toilet block very good , one shower room including toilet basin and walk in shower for each men and women.
Easy to understand instructions to open coded barrier sent by text and good WiFi.
Everybody on site was very friendly.
We had lovely days out around south Cumbria
Weather fantastic !

Disliked Only two showers with toilets meant waiting for toilet or shower, possibly need extra individual toilets or 2 each of men and women’s facilities, as if site full at least 10 people needing to use them.
Sadly the road noise was quite loud as next to a corner/ junction where traffic has to slow down or speed up so on Sunday morning in particular the motorbikes started revving around the corner at 8.00am! Also there is a lay-by adjacent to the site so often vehicles stopped there.
No dog walking area on site bjt could walk along the river a little way along a poorly maintained ed public footpath

Electric gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked Easy access, came in a 7.5m, no problem at all. Lovely small site which was so peaceful. Dogs loved it. Bathrooms immaculate and brand new. Chemical disposal, waste water disposal and drinking water refill. Great WiFi. Nice secure gate system. There is some light road noise, but we slept great so didn't fuss us at all. Pub next door did great food and we eat there 3 times! They have a little playground too for little ones. Great walks and access to the rest of the lakes.

Disliked Nothing!

Liked Lovely well kept site

Disliked Brand new lovely bathroom but no mirror nor in men’s 🙈
Very noisy at night and then very early in morning tractors motor bikes.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to review us. On our description of the site it shows that it is close to main roads and in a semi rural area, of course with being in an area like that you are going to get some traffic noise. Also with the mirror situation there has been a delay with them coming from the manufacturer and they are getting fitted this week. We have only been open for 1 month so teething problems is expected to start with but we are on it with making our site a great place to stay and ironing out any slight problems.
Thank you
