Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Great pitches, loads of space, clean and such a lovely inviting atmosphere. The keepers are friendly and welcomed us on site.
Facilities are adequate and clean, a little walk from camping site to toilets but not terrible.
We really really enjoyed our stay and would return as in a great location.

Disliked Pigeons hooting early hours - I mean ALOT of them. I personally didn’t care but they irritated the husband

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Everything, we had a lovely camping weekend. Our little girl enjoyed the freedom of being able to independently explore the park. (We were based within eyesight of the park)

Disliked Nothing.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Great family site. Very clean toilets & facilities. Very quiet location too. Large pitches

Disliked I don't understand why all toilet & wash up facilities are located by the caravans & lodges, the majority of which have their own facilities. The tent sites were quite a distance & as someone who has mobility issues I found this extremely difficult & don't feel I could return for that reason.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We’re pleased to hear you found the park quiet, clean and spacious.

We’re sorry to hear the location of your pitch made things more difficult for you. If mobility issues are mentioned at the time of booking, we can usually allocate a pitch closer to the facilities to make things easier. Hopefully this means that if you choose to return, we’ll be able to offer a pitch that better suits your needs.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Clean and tidy site

Disliked The site is set up for static caravans and tourers as the toilet and shower facilities are situated at that end of the site.
Other camps had taken their own toilet set up and would recommend doing the same.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you found the site clean and tidy. Our facilities are positioned so that both touring and camping guests can use them, but we do understand that some campers choose to bring their own set-up for convenience. We’ll take your comments on board as we continue to look at ways we can improve.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Clean and well maintained site

Disliked Toilets to far from tent campsite, pitch size too small and is definitely not dog friendly….no ware on site to exercise dogs.Dogs have to be tied up all the time even if you need the toilet dogs have to be tied up outside the building.Shop very under stocked which is a shame as main supermarket miles away.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased you found the site clean and well maintained.

We’re sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay didn’t meet your expectations. For the comfort and safety of all guests, we do have rules in place regarding dogs on site and quiet hours in the evenings. These are communicated in advance and apply equally to everyone staying with us. While we understand this may not have suited your needs on this occasion, we hope you were still able to enjoy your time exploring the surrounding area.

The perfect little campsite for a comfortable getaway. We loved it!

From the manager: Thank you for your review, Joy. Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The camp site, the showers, washing up areas and chemical disposing were immaculate. The staff in the shop were lovely. An ideal base to go sight seeing the lovely Yorkshire coast and countryside

Disliked Could do with toilets on the tent field especially when going at night

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. It’s great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and found the facilities well looked after, and we’ll pass on your kind words to our team. We do appreciate your feedback about toilets on the camping field – at the moment all guests use the main block so that everything can be maintained to a high standard, but we’ll certainly keep your comments in mind.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The cleanliness of the whole site
well maintained pitches and surrounding areas
Toilets and showers immaculate
lots of green areas for kids to play

Disliked Tent owners car parking!
needs to be specific of where they should park , maybe state should be parked at side of tent on allocated pitch as it was like a car park as people were parking anywhere especially when visitors arrived, maybe they should park in car park as not very safe for all the children playing and restricts their playing spaces
Could do with a small toilet block at the tent end of site
Need more showers

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting how much you appreciated the cleanliness, facilities, and green space for children to play. It’s always great to hear you’d recommend us and plan to return.

We do ask guests to park on their allocated pitch, and to help keep numbers down, there’s an additional charge for extra cars. Safety is very important to us, particularly with children playing, and your comments are useful as we continue to make sure this is clear to everyone on arrival.

We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay overall, and we look forward to welcoming you back again.

Local attractions

Snainton is a pretty village which offers golfing and horse riding as well as trout and coarse fishing at the nearby Wykeham Lakes. If you’re feeling chipper, you can book in for a one-to-one woodturning lesson from the experts at the on-site Snainton Woodworking Centre. The big destination in the area is Scarborough. With 360 years in the tourism trade (it was the country’s first ever seaside resort) this legendary coastal town has plenty of experience in keeping visitors happy. As well as the obvious attractions of the sandy beaches, Italian gardens and the lovely Peasholm Park, there are trips by boat, open air bus or miniature steam railway, and it’s definitely worth making your way up to the imposing castle on the cliff tops. There’s no need to worry about rain stopping play either, thanks to the classic seaside amusements, Sea Life Marine Sanctuary, art gallery and geological museum. You could even hit the casino... The town also has a packed programme of events, concerts and festivals running throughout the year, including the famous Scarborough Fair music festival, Seafest, which combines a celebration of the sea with international folk music; and the annual end of season cricket festival, which has been pulling crowds since 1876. In the opposite direction is the smaller town of Pickering, which is transported back to the 1940s each autumn as part of its annual wartime weekend, but is worth a visit anytime for a trip on the North York Moors Railway, which steams through the National Park from here to Grosmont. Relax and enjoy the ride, try to spot the station used by the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films, or disembark at one of the platforms along the 18-mile journey for some excellent walking in the glorious Yorkshire countryside. Alternatively, visitors can follow the route taken by their Viking forbears to fun-packed York, home to the Jorvik Viking Centre, the soaringly beautiful architecture of York Minster, the gore and thrills of the York Dungeons, and nationally important railway and air museums. Other attractions that can be reached in under 30 minutes include: Dalby Forest, which offers excellent birdwatching, wildlife spotting and walking; Castle Howard, one of the most beautiful stately homes in the UK, and a venue for concerts and many other events during the summer months; Flamingo Land theme park and zoo; the World War II museum at Eden Camp; and Go Ape!, a tree top adventure playground where visitors can make like Tarzan on the swings, bridges and zipwires.
