  • Scenic riverside park with a river taxi to Stratford-upon-Avon centre
  • Over a mile and a half of free fishing on the River Avon
  • Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant and a multi-sports pitch on site
Imagine drifting past weeping willows, verdant banks and genteel swans in your own private river taxi, before stepping off in the centre of stunning Stratford-upon-Avon only a mile away. If this sounds like the kind of thing dreams are made of, take a look at Stratford Parks Holiday Park, a peaceful and plant-filled site on the River Avon in the Warwickshire countryside. What customers say

Great campsite, riverside spot near Stratford. Staff are super friendly, site's clean and tidy. Bar/restaurant gets good marks for tasty, well-priced food. A few suggest updating showers.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Lovely clean site, staff and wardens very polite and welcoming. Shown to your pitch and everything you need to know is explained. The river taxi in to town is a little gem. We’ll be back that’s for sure.

Liked Good location with a nice walk into Stratford.
Facilities very clean with hot water in abundance.
On site bar ( did not use)
Large pitch size so you are not on top of others
Very friendly staff
Dog friendly

Disliked Payment required for WIFi, but this now seems to be the norm on UK sites.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Everything was great about this site. Our pitch was large and flat but I did notice some people had ramps out so maybe not all pitches are flat . It was impeccably clean and tidy with immaculate toilets / showers . The staff were very welcoming. The bar had a lovely atmosphere and the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The water taxi was a fab experience and the driver was very knowledgeable about the sights along the way . All in all a very nice place to be . We loved it and we will be back soon .

Disliked If I have to dislike anything it was the toilet rolls in the ladies . The very nice attendant squished 2 rolls in the same dispenser every day on top of each other . This makes it very difficult to turn when you need to use it . I couldn’t get any out and had to take my own . Not a major issue more of an annoying peeve . Maybe he was making sure we had plenty 😀

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Great location on the river for paddle boarding or kayaking, site very tidy and well looked after, staff friendly and helpful Bar and restaurant couldn’t fault, food good and reasonably priced. Boat taxi a great bonus.

Disliked Shower and toilet block could do with some updating but adequate so not a real issue.

Liked The site itself is lovely.

Disliked All of it…The sofa bed, you can’t even sit on as it is so springy. The mattresses are also springy. Very uncomfortable and unusable. I honestly don’t know how we coped. The sofa bed and mattresses all need replacing. The fridge froze all our food and there is no temperature setting so we kept having to switch it off.
The showers were freezing and I couldn’t use them. The toilets smelt and weren’t clean at all.
It’s such a shame as the site is great. We would go back but would never stay in the pods.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Bar / restaurant excellent. Location couldn’t be better. Shower for disabled people very good.

Disliked Touring field is like a car park on grass. Pitches close together. No privacy on your pitch. Parked in lines as if you’re on a caravan rally. Strange rules - no windbreaks, no sleeping in awnings, no washing to be dried by your unit etc etc. All seemingly fine but still these things happened across the site. Lack of drinking water points, I only saw one outside the shower block for the whole site. Very dated shower block. Broken toilets. Loose toilet seats. Broken locks. Lock to disabled shower needed a key (which is fine) but the key wouldn’t turn without considerable force. Electric hook up points were unacceptable with multiple plug ins (6/8)off each post and then very long trailing cables to each unit across walkway and being driven over constantly. Trip hazard and not good for the cables!!

Local attractions

For a change from the river taxi, guests can stroll into Stratford-upon-Avon to take in a play from the Royal Shakespeare Company, have a flutter at the races, or visit the many Shakespeare sights dotted around the city. There’s also excellent retail therapy to be had here, as well as in the elegant surrounding towns of Cheltenham, Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick.
Sporty types will find golf courses, swimming pools and many other facilities nearby, and of course there are plenty of good walking opportunities along the river and out into the lovely Warwickshire countryside. Further along the banks of the Avon are the stately country house of Charlecote Park, and winsome Warwick Castle, which has plenty of things to do and see for all ages. Also nearby are the majestic ruins of Kenilworth Castle, where Robert Dudley and Elizabeth I used to make out; or you could follow in the footsteps of the Gunpowder Plotters of 1605 with a visit to Coughton Court. At the Ragley Hall Estate, visitors can take a tour of the Palladian mansion, go sculpture spotting in the Capability Brown parkland, or lose themselves in the 3D maze. The site is also a great base from which to explore the villages and landscapes of the Cotswolds.
