Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Huge field with large pitches (stayed on "the Top"), clean facilities, would stay there again!

Disliked Just a note: the water hose for fresh water should be longer, in order to be able to fill the van. If you don't have you're own, you can't do it.

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Lovely site that isn't commercialised like the big holiday parks. Wayne takes a lot of pride in his site which is clearly obvious. Facilities are spotless and everything is neat and tidy. Nice and secure for children and a great play area. The site is set in a great area for exploring local towns. Wayne is very helpful and as long as you follow the rules of the park (which are simple and just common courtesy) then there's no problems ! Will definitely return.

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked From start to finish was amazing . Wayne welcomed us warmly to the site and helped us back into our pitch. Saturday nights he collects and Chinese which was lovely . He doesn’t over price on the stay. Shower block was clean and well looked after. We’ve got a 5 year old which played on the play area all day and make lots of friends. At night it’s very quiet with amazing views. If you like star gazing I’d recommend this !

Disliked Can’t think of anything

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very clean and tidy, well maintained, lovely view, friendly owner and nice park for young children. Close to Church Stretton and Much Wenlock.

Disliked A little tio many 'do not' signs around but appreciate why past incidents now warrant them. Previous review pics showed donkeys / goats so children a little disappointed not to see any animals.

From the manager: Thank you very much for your review. Much appreciated.
I'm very sorry there is Signs saying do not etc. but the reason the signs are there because people don't abide by the rules for example you did not close the doors on the Shower Block yesterday to stop the cats entering the Shower Block that is part of the sign. (Do not) obviously I do need to put up the signs. Up,
As for the animals, I am so sorry they did not see them as they are only in the field by the Shower block and all day, I'm surprised they did not see them or hear them because they are calling all day to be fed ,
To be fair, I don't understand why you just didn't ask me because I would've took the kids into the field to pet them
Thank you
Wayne

Local attractions

This part of Shropshire is brimming over with history. Start with an exploration of the ruins and reconstructions at the Wroxeter Roman city, Viriconium, 15 minutes’ drive from Walnut Cottage Caravan Park, then jump forward a thousand years or so for something more recent: at the birthplace of the industrial revolution in Ironbridge Gorge, 20 minutes away, wander through Blists Hill Victorian Town, learn about the history of iron in the Coalbrookdale Museum and cross the first cast-iron bridge in the world. There are plenty of stately homes and (formerly) impregnable fortresses nearby: the 13th-century Stokesay Castle is 30 minutes from Walnut Cottage, and the spectacular Attingham Park, Wilderhope Manor and Benthall Hall are all within 20 minutes of the site. The local towns are no slouches either: Church Stretton, the only town within the Shropshire Hills AONB, dates back to Norman times; Much Wenlock is home to a precursor to the modern Olympic Games, and the Wenlock Olympian Games are still held every year; and Shrewsbury was the birthplace of the Origin of Species’ Charles Darwin. For a break from history, hire a raft for a tour at Ironbridge Gorge, take to the slopes at the snowboarding and skiing centre in Telford, or get muddy at Severn Valley Quad Trekking, all within 35 minutes of Walnut Cottage.
