  • Family-run farm site in the Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Sleaford and half an hour from Lincoln
  • Well-drained pitches with access to fields for dog walking
Away to the Lincolnshire countryside? You'll just need a handy base, and look no further than Heath Farm Caravan Site, a family-run farm site just outside the little village of North Rauceby. A 10-minute drive from Sleaford, this site is in a handy spot for heading out to Lincoln, Boston and other towns, visiting relatives up the road at RAF Cranwell or sticking to local lanes for strolls between villages (or village pubs…). If your travelling party features a dog, there’s plenty of space for them to get out for a walk in the fields next door. Pitches here are on level, well-drained land with plenty of green all around. There's an unusual attraction here, too: the farm is also home to an aviation museum. Free to visit, the Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre is set in the old farm buildings and is a particular draw for folks fascinated by things that fly, or with an interest in military history. A flight simulator, a Vampire T11 nose cone and a full-sized military plane are out in the courtyard.

What customers say

A tidy, tranquil spot with hospitable hosts. Pitches are flat and roomy. Ablutions are spotlessly maintained. Aviation museum a hit. Occasional road noise noted but minor. No showers but compensated by value. Guests keen to revisit.

Liked This is our favourite local site,Paula and Mark are a lovely couple,so helpful
and f,riendly, the grass and site is kept immaculate, toilet is spotless, handy
sink if you want to wash your dishes, and hot water to have a wash. We could

Liked Lovely site, lovely surroundings, very neat and tidy. Small museum on site if you choose to visit. Lots to do around the area also if you choose. Birds to see, saw oyster catchers for the first time here just from the walk around the site.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked A lovely site with good sized pitches on a level field. It is great for the dogs with a good exercise area.
We had a very warm welcome on arrival from the owner who was very helpful and even lent my daughter a longer power cable for her pitch.
The site is next to the road, but it wasn’t busy at night and didn't disturb us.
There is only a toilet which was spotless.
Cranwell Aviation museum is also on site, which is well worth a walk around.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: It was lovely to meet you all and the dogs too.
Thanks for your lovely comments.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Location good for Sleaford and Newark, very clean toilet and washroom. Also Very good recycling facilities and chemical disposal. Friendly host, loved the little honesty shop, books, puzzles and various other items. Nice flat pitches, well kept site. Also we'll priced

Disliked One toilet could be an issue if site was full. Slight road noise but never really bothered us. Would be nice if a hedge was installed to replace ranching fence for extra site privacy.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Always disappointing when we only receive an 8/10.
We have addressed the issue of one toilet many times on here and our ratio is no lower than most other sites.

Local attractions

If you’ve picked this place mainly for its aviation element, why stop there? Turn your holiday into a themed break by heading out to see more flying machines and memorabilia at Newark Air Museum (20 minutes’ drive), playing with the interactive displays at International Bomber Command Centre (25 minutes) and taking a day to follow the North Kesteven Airfield Trail around the area’s many current and former air bases. Time for a break from the sky-based stuff? Skip into Sleaford (10 minutes’ drive) to visit the free museum, see the Cogglesford Watermill in action and follow the themed trails to uncover the town’s arty and historic corners. Or maybe you’d rather stick to things that move at ground level? If so, the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum (half an hour) is a good place to start. You might also spot rather smaller things scuttling about on a walk at Hartsholme Country Park (35 minutes) or the Natural World Centre (35 minutes), which also has outdoor and indoor wildlife-themed adventure playgrounds for the kids.
