Electric hardstanding and grass campervan pitch (no awning, small)
Liked: Very nice and clean facilities (showers, toilets, kitchen, lounge), although they may be too small when the site is full.
Great location in the Peak District, several walks can be made from the site. Good pub in walking distance (20 minutes, partly uphill).
Disliked: The site is literally next to a busy and noisy road.
A lot of the site looks like a parking lot, with a lot of tarmac. We probably had the nicest spot (no. 17, only for small campervans) (that's also the sight seen in the campsite's picture), right next to a field and with a beautiful view of Chelmerton - you just have to ignore the noise from the road right in your back.

From the manager: Thankyou for your review. We are glad you liked the location albeit next to the road. The views from the back of the site are beautiful and we thankyou for your feedback.

Disliked: No onsite shop or local shop but aware of this before booking so our choice but would make this place even better!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked: Absolutely great site in the lovely Peak District. The site is immaculately kept and the staff professional, friendly and helpful. I actually commented to a member of staff that we thought the innovative communal living room area and kitchen was a great idea (we used this both days). We loved the 24 hour nature of the facilities and the fact that on day two we could vacate the pitch then simply move my campervan, go out for a day of cycling and use the facilities after - brilliant. Will definitely be back.
Disliked: Not exactly a dislike, but the hardstanding material I found almost impenetrable with rock pegs and drill when securing the awning down - very unusual. Next time I will take a wider section of rock pegs and try to hammer in. This certainly would not put me off, may help you first time around.
