Liked: Absolutely fantastic amazing camp site, me and my family young children had a brilliant time, the facilities where brilliant 👏 😀 👍 the owner a lovely and helpful guy!! It was safe for all the children 🙏 and we have met friends for life cannot say enough about our stay beautiful country side will be going back before the summer holidays end, my children 8 & 5 have met new friends for life didn't want to leave would recommend to anyone

Outdoor pool 15 minutes drive (you have to pay) beach right by it.Disliked: Wish the shop was open for longer and stocked more food as it means you have to leave the campsite more often and the surrounding area is has very steep hills and narrow lanes.
Not much for the children just a very small park. My children however did not complain once and had the time of their lives meeting new friends and being away from technology for a week.

Disliked: Being kept up until 12.45 am by tractors! The noise was horrendous and your tent was lit up like Blackpool illuminations.
Yes states a working farm but not that you will not got any sleep.
Host was rude in their email .
After being awake from 4 am going straight from work to take your children away for 2 nights as you can only go on weekends then having absolutely no sleep on 1 night. Having to find somewhere else to stay in the school holidays because you can’t travel home on no sleep . The host not caring! They take your money and keep you up all night. Worst site I’ve ever stayed on .

Disliked: Extremely narrow lanes make it a nightmare to get to. Got dirty looks from existing campers on arrival. Children were running everywhere, and many pitches were taken up with large family groups. First field was full, second field had a group of at least 8 large tents monopolising the middle of the field…..with loud music blaring out. It was so bad we decided not to stay. Emailed the site to complain and had no response. Would definitely not recommend - especially in school holidays!!

We are sorry you decided not to stay. I would like to offer our point of view for the problems you mentioned. We are situated only 1 mile from a main road (A380 to Torquay), and unfortunately satnavs always direct people down a lane (for half a mile only). It is perfectly usable, but I understand would be surprising for people unfamiliar with country lanes. A much better way to access the campsite is via Orestone Lane. I would argue the campsite is very easy to access, if you left London on the M4 for example, it is literally only 4 turnings to get here. (No exaggeration).
With regards the children, bigger groups and music. Of course there are children playing! It’s a campsite! We also welcome family groups and we have noticed the future of camping definitely will include groups who want to spend a good quality time together over various days instead of a bbq over one evening. We applaud this future which brings people together in a natural and low impact way. The group you mentioned have a music quiz some evenings and are sensible and are always quiet at 11pm sharp.
We would consider ourselves a quiet and relaxing campsite most of the time (our usual reviews attest to this), but we will not impose lots of rules that mean no-one can have any fun.

Liked: Freedom to pitch where ever was empty. Very laid back site. Toilets n showers decent. Amazing views! Thought the tent spares n loan a fire pit was a great idea. Man on reception very nice.

Good morning,
I’m sorry you were unfortunate to be here when the farmers need to work extra hours. Unfortunately they have no choice in the matter and certainly do not work late for fun.
I apologise for the inconvenience but we will not be offering a refund for the following reasons, our website and booking platforms state we are working farm. Noise issues for necessary work would be similar to asking for refunds for traffic, sirens or a flight path from a city hotel.
All our other seasoned campers understand and I think it would be extremely difficult to find a country campsite without a farm nearby.
We all need to eat food and it’s as simple as if rain is forecast, all the work needs to be done to ensure the supply of food for everyone.
