Liked: The toilet and shower facilities are modern and kept very clean. Grass pitches are a good size. Small play area and a good sized field for ball games which the kids loved. The whole site was very tidy and well kept. Would 100% recommend a visit.

Liked: Loved the location of the site, the pitch was just behind a play area which was basic but the children loved it. Amazing facilities and they were kept so clean.
Disliked: The rules on the back of the map are quite strictly written and almost come across as if you’re in trouble.. you’re not allowed to use any wood within the wilderness for fires but you can buy the wood from the shop… seems like a selling tactic whilst being told off…
The pitches are also really close together, we had a trailer tent on one side and a van set up on the other, it left absolutely no elbow room not that you need much but a smidge would be nice.

Liked: Everything!!!!, amazing site, with clean new facilities, separate playing field, spacious pitches onsite shop and cafe. Pizza and bacon rolls were delicious!!! Loved the quiet rule after 10pm. Super friendly staff😊 and loads to do nearby. Can’t wait to return.

Liked: The size of the pitch was good. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Nice size play area for the kids. Onsite shop really handy and being able to hire fire pits for £10 for the duration of your stay was great. Kids had a great time. Play park 10 minute walk from site. Coleford half hr walk from site. Perfect little get away for a cheap price too.

Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations but pleased that you appreciated the clean facilities and the play area and that your children loved their stay.
Our rules are not intended to be onerous but more as a reminder of camping etiquette – mostly aimed at preventing late night noise and inconsiderate behaviour. Sadly, we have learnt from experience that if we do not ban collecting wood from the hedgerows and wildlife areas, some people have no limits and cause damage to the hedges and destroy the natural habitats that we have carefully created as part of our landscaping. We have also seen people collect wood from the surrounding woods which is is not acceptable, so it is better to sell wood and negate the temptation to do this. You are welcome to bring your own fire-wood but we ask that you do not to pull it from our hedges or the woods surrounding us.
It is unusual to get a complaint about the size of our pitches, we will take your comments into consideration. I hope our response goes someway to explaining the reasoning behind our rules.
