Scenery was stunning, John was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend staying here to anyone! Will be staying again.

Very simple site facilities which suits us perfectly but may not meet everyone preferences

It was wild camping in terms of campfires allowed, one standpipe, one portaloo, and a beautiful, remote location. The pitches were far from wild; large, flat, well-drained, with no stones and some of the best-manicured grass I've ever seen on a campsite.

Ace brook for kids to play in complete with two rope swings.

John the owner was brilliant, and couldn't be more approachable or helpful. Even when pre-pairing for 400 people on Jubilee weekend.

Will certainly be back for a return visit.

Nothing to be honest. You got exactly what was advertised.

John was very friendly and helpful. He lent us a pan to cook our pasta as we forgot to bring one.

Lovely campsite a paradise! did have fine weather, walked up the mountain & to the village very pretty, host very helpful & friendly, spacey pitches prtable toilets very clean grass cut nice & short wonderful views

nothing, except I guess you might need a shower, we used our privacy tent with portable shower so not a problem really

Cayo Retreat is a totally stunning spot to stay. The landscape is beautiful, we were totally relaxed the whole time we were there, just listening to the bird song and babble of the river. The bell tent we stayed in really felt like a slice of luxury, the bed was super comfortable and the added extra blankets, rugs and a million cushions made it feel like a home from home.

Jon was a brilliant host, super friendly, funny and attentive. I actually liked the fact that there were no showers, less faff. It probably has an impact on the kind of camper who choose to stay there, if they are chilled about not having a shower for a couple of days they will probably be pretty chilled about most things!

I can't fault this campsite. John couldn't have been nicer. The location is idyllic. The village shop is incredible. Castle within walking distance. The Wales boarder is 1.5 miles away and the walk there is phenomenal. The rope swings over the river and the fire pit are what did it for the kids. Pub within walking distance and it even does breakfast.

Very beautiful location, great bell tents, very peaceful atmosphere. John was a very friendly and authentic host who went the extra mile to make us feel welcome.

The website said the was no water point, but there was actually a (fresh spring) water tap.
