Liked Site was clean,tidy and well placed for Whitby.

Disliked The pitch we had would have been very tight to get out of if it was full,but luckily some vehicles left early.

Disliked Gents toilet/shower needs upgrading. Pitches would benefit from some pillar lighting as a nice touch.

Liked The site has great access. although a bit bumpy on the approach road via the railway bridge. Pixash lane is directly off the A4. It was exactly what it says on the tin, a small field with open views, a tap and a chemical toilet disposal, EHU and grass or hard standings. The site manager was friendly and flexible over meeting to get payment. The site is within an easy drive to Bath or Bristol and the X39 bus is a bonus if you don't want to take the car. Very quiet in between trains, although we did 5 nights so we got used to it. There is a petrol station nearby and a Tesco express under 2 miles away. Larger shopping and food outlet opportunities slightly further afield. We used this location for visiting Bath and it served us well.

Liked Loved the look and location of the site, that's why we picked it. The management did let us move our booking on by a day due to our initial car trouble, but...

Disliked ... We never got there in the end and although we explained the horrendous situation we had with our vehicle to the management (Sue) and asked if we could once again move our booking ( pre paid), we just got quoted the cancellation policy. We did not want to cancel, we just wanted to move the booking on to later in the month as our vehicle had a serious engine problem that would take a week to sort and we were looking at a bill of around £1500. We expected to at least get some sympathy, but no, just a curt email. Terribly upset as it would have been our first break away since last November. Pitch-up do recommend to try and negotiate a new arrival date in exceptional circumstances and this is what we tried to do to no avail. As soon as we knew of the problems we did phone the site and only got a pre recorded message that was irrelevant and it was not possible to speak to anyone or leave a message or get an alternative mobile number. Although Sue got back to us quite quickly after we emailed the 1st time. It took 3 days and a further reminder to get the second response. We did try again to just move the booking , but have had no further response from the site.

Liked Price, very reasonable for electric hook up. Close to our destination- Carfest. Quiet, basic and nice grass pitch.

Disliked No obvious "here we are" sign, so we missed the gate on the first pass. Annoying.

From the manager: glad you liked your stay despite the horrendous weather over Car Fest. I like to keep my signage discreet which is why I do say on Pitch Up to look out for Hampton Springs Fishery as I am directly opposite and have a sign for the fishery in my hedge
