Liked: Great area for walks and close to Scarfell Pike. Very large lake to enjoy water sports.
Excellent shop and staff, site well maintained overall.Disliked: Can become boggy after down fall, as camp due, un-avoidably to it's location, set on solid ground so pooling under or around tent can happen. Advise having ground sheet and very good tent pegs.

Thanks for the feedback and 10/10 review. We would like to point out that we do email everyone before your arrival and recommend that you prebook food from the food van as it does get busy and sell out. We also have the same recommendation on all the signage for the food van that comes on site.

Disliked: Not having signal, they do have WiFi at reception.

Friendly staffDisliked: Pizza sellers tricked my kids, and gave them a small size with 2 rests of ingredients (5 were originally planed in the order). I would certainly call that an abuse due to lack of competition locally.
Opening hours of the grocery could be extended. It could help, considering the lack of catering possibilities locally.

We are somewhat confused with the review regarding the Mill foodvan, as they only do one size of pizza and wouldn't in any way benefit from 'tricking' anyone. If you were unhappy with the order you placed or it was wrong in any way, we are confused why you did not take this up with the Mill staff or by coming to reception during your stay.
Also, our reception is open from 9am till 8pm 6 out of 7 days, and only closes early on a sunday (6pm).

Liked: The area is beautiful and the site is well kept with a well stocked shop for any bits you may have forgotten. It also has a lovely play area for the kids.

Hello and thanks for the feedback. We would like to point out that we only shut the toilet blokc for an hour everyday, but cleaning takes place 3 times a day. We also check and deal with any issues in the toilets regularly, and when issues are highlighted to our staff.
In terms of our facilites, we have recently received the highest grading during our AA ratings inspection, but will take your feedback on board.
