Liked: The layout of the showers was really great, loads of space to get dry. All very clean and maintained.
The location was the perfect base for several Wainwright's and all the staff really friendly.
Handy to have a well stocked shop.
Only downside was limited WiFi and phone connection which we could only get around the reception area. One of our favourite sites.Disliked: –

Liked: Lovely site with good sized level pitches. It's a big site but doesn't feel like it as pitches arranged into small fields which we liked.well stocked shop.
Disliked: Could not give 5 stars as site had problems with boiler so we had no hot water for showers. Might seem petty but after long day in the hills was disappointing.
Great Location - Spoilt by boiler issues.

Liked: Location. Perfect location for what we had planned for our stay.
Staff were friendly and welcoming.Disliked: No hot water from Saturday. Unable to shower or wash up. Still not fixed when we left in the Monday.
Ground to put pegs in had lots of concrete underneath so pegs kept bending.

Liked: Great views, reception staff very friendly, no louder crowds, family toilet available.
Disliked: Just one facility for the entire campsite and were not very clean but I guess because there is only one gets dirty quite often.

Liked: Position for walking
Disliked: Noisy. Pitches too close to each other. Tents and vans mixed together. Had to keep windows and roof vents closed due to fire pits smoke. Facilities not very clean.
Sorry to see your stay was less than perfect.
We have a site map that shows the layout of our pitches and we do have a mix of hard standing pitches and tent pitches.
We are also aware of some noisy campers that were pitched near you and the staff did speak to them on several occasions to ensure they quietened down, throughout the night. They were asked to leave the following morning and have since been banned from making future bookings with us.
We would like to point out that had you let us know the issues you were having while onsite, we may have been able to rectify some, if not all the issues.

Liked: Loved the location, beautiful scenery . Especially at sunset!
Pub had a lovely selection of beers and good decore.Disliked: The pub only served guests booked in for food, didn't have any notices up saying that was what was happening, turned more people away for food than had dining in the establishment from what we could see and other chatter around the area.

Liked: Spacious site and friendly hosts. Lovely welcome on arrival. Clean facilities and my two kids loved the park. Great base for hiking and a short drive to wastwater lake and the seascale coast. The shop in reception has everything you need.
Would definitely visit again.Disliked: You could only get wifi at reception which isn't a major issue, as we only needed it to get oasis tickets at the time! 😂

Liked: The facilities were fantastic everything you could have needed while camping.
Shower and toilet unit was lovely and clean, nice hot water.
Staff was very helpful and lovely couldn't fault them.

We apologies for the broken heating system in our shower block, which is not a regular occurance. We did everything we could to restore the hot water during the weekend and appreciate that this took a day to be acheived. The time it took for an engineer to arrive was sadly out of our hands.
As we are in one of the glacial valleys of the lake district, the ground does have many rocks under the surface, which is why we would recommend bringing and using rock pegs if you stay in any lake district location.
