- Touring site on a family farm with animals in the Vinalopó valley
- In a scenic wine-growing region 10 minutes’ drive from Novelda
- Horse, pony and donkey riding activities on site, plus café-bar
There’s no doubt about it: Los Establos, surrounded by the vineyards and mountains of Alicante’s Vinalopó valley, is outstandingly scenic. There’s no doubt about this either: it should be very well suited to those who adore animals and farm life, as guests can get involved in meeting and caring for the animals on the farm as well as joining horse, pony and donkey riding activities.
Set on a family farm, these peaceful touring pitches should be pretty attractive to outdoorsy folks. Walks, bike rides, horse-riding lessons and farm visits can fill any spare hours that you have between touring the wineries in Novelda, 10 minutes’ drive away, visiting Elda and Agost, 25 minutes away, or Alicante, 35 minutes northeast.
There are plenty of places to go hiking and mountain biking within a short drive of the site, and the site team can help arrange nature walks and bike tours if you need a bit of help working out where to go.
Descend upon the on-site café-bar for your morning cup of coffee or quiet time throughout the day; if you ask staff in advance, they can serve you up breakfasts, snacks and meals. Supermarkets and restaurants are within a 10-minute drive of the site, and there's an Olympic-sized swimming pool in Els Montesinos.
Facilities-wise, Los Establos has the basics covered with toilets, showers, non-potable water (please bring your own drinking water) and general waste, sewage and grey water disposal points. Good news if you fancy bringing your dogs along for a taste of life on a farm – they’re welcome on site.

Local attractions
Los Establos is surrounded by mountains and vineyards, yet within a reasonable drive of the famed Costa Blanca city Alicante (35 minutes’ drive), with its colourful old town and hilltop medieval castle, Castillo de Santa Bárbara.
You’ll likely spend a fair bit of time around Novelda (10 minutes), which has a reputation for spices, wine and modernist architecture; the latter can be seen at Casa Museo Modernista (10 minutes). On the outskirts of Novelda is the stunning Mola Castle (15 minutes), where 12th-century ruins are set on a dramatic hilltop.
Plenty of other notable spots are within reach too. Overlooked by La Silla del Cid mountain, Elda (25 minutes) has a castle and a shoe museum. Surrounded by more mountains, Agost (25 minutes) has access to the greenway from Agost to Maigmó, a scenic route passing viaducts, pine forests and tunnels. The city of Elche (half an hour) is also within driving distance; the old town, basilica and botanical gardens can easily fill a few spare hours.
