Looking to do some Tuscan sightseeing but prefer to be based in the countryside? You’re in the right place at Camping La Pineta, a peaceful spot surrounded by nature and set among lush greenery in the Casentino Valley. It’s also only five minutes’ drive from the fortified castle, museum and monuments of hilltop Poppi, plus a scattering of medieval castles and historic abbeys across the region. To explore further afield, the Gothic cathedral, Basilica of St Francis and Medici Fortress in historic Arezzo are 50 minutes away in the car.
There’s a fair amount going on at and around the site, however, if you’d rather stay put on your tree-shaded pitch. You can swim a few laps of the outdoor pool and soak up the rays on the sun deck, while the various sports facilities within 15 minutes’ drive include tennis, golf, sport fishing and riding.
You can watch the sun go down from the terrace bar, where snacks are served daily, or head for Poppi to pick up barbecue supplies in the shops. If you’re not a fan of outdoor cooking, then this picture-perfect Tuscan village has a selection of trattorias and pizzerias at reasonable prices.

- Reception is unmanned after 8 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.
- Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.
