What customers say

Great spot, well-kept site with clean, modern facilities & a nice pool. Friendly staff. Handy to Montbazon, supermarket & fortress. River pitches ace. Beware mozzies; Wi-Fi & hot water can be patchy in peak season. One odd reception issue noted.

Liked Lovely pool with toddler area and plenty of seating. Service blocks were clean and fully functional. The option to paddle or swim in the river was lovely as well.
Onsite snack bars were great and evening entertainment was nice if you wanted that sort of thing (we were all too tired from full on days in the sun!).
A short walk round the corner into Montbazon gets you some lovely restaurants (we had a lovely meal at Dolce Vita for a treat) and takeaways and I think a bakery as well. The guignette at the gateway has bouncy castles in the evening and whilst the food was a little pricey for the 4 of us, we had a drink in the lively riverside atmosphere on our last night which was great.

Location wise we explored Tours, Loire wineries, troglodyte caves, Chinon Fortresses and a day for the kids at Lulu Parc.

Absolutely loved this site. We originally booked for 3 nights and booked 2 extra nights rather than head on to our next destination. The kids are already asking to go back!

Disliked It would be nice to be able to have a drink whilst supervising the swimming pool.

Liked Very good facilities, clean and modern. Close to a supermarket. Swimming pool and snacks bar restaurant for delicious burgers and pizzas.

Disliked We were directly opposite the outdoor stage where the kids howled to karaoke all evening. (We're just not into that sort of entertainment and our pitch happened to be close - other folk will not mind it).

Liked The staff, the chilled nature of the site, the cleanliness, the town has everything! We the pool - one of the best we have found for capable but not strong swimmers. We came last year and have noticed the improvements they are making to the site. It is 4 hours from Cherbourg so a great first stop for a holiday camping around France.

Disliked Nothing! Second time here and will come back

Local attractions

Sometimes you just want to stick close to your nest and that’s more than okay here… Montbazon (10 minutes’ walk) has a small fortress and it’s the gateway to a fair few walks, including the riverside Indre à Vélo route and The Way of Saint James. A simple car or bike ride can go a long way too, whether that's over to the Arboretum de la Martinière (10 minutes’ drive), laser games at Laser Game Evolution Tours (15 minutes), the family-friendly rides at Lulu Parc (20 minutes), the Château de Candé (10 minutes) or canoeing and kayaking on the Val de l'Indre (five minutes). Of course, there's a whole league of castles around too, especially the splendid Château de Villandry (25 minutes). There's no shortage of bicycle rentals and bike tours either (or the more unusual go-kart tours) and it’s no surprise when you consider all the beauty spots in the Loire Valley. Where to whisk out the wheels? Perhaps the Cave of Goupillières (25 minutes) for a Touraine cavern? Amboise (40 minutes) for castles and Da Vinci’s former home? While hiking and biking stick to the ground, you’ll take on the treetops on the obstacle courses at Gadawi Park (15 minutes). As for animals, there’s the Safari Train (40 minutes) and ZooParc de Beauval (50 minutes).
