What customers say

A tidy, family-run spot for a peaceful country break. Owners are super friendly & helpful. Toilets/showers are spotless & modern. Heated pool & restaurant get the thumbs up. Great base for Normandy coast & D-Day sites. Wi-Fi can be hit-and-miss, and pitches are a bit cosy.

From the manager: Dear Family,

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you appreciated the natural setting, the simplicity of the place, and Delphine’s warm and friendly welcome. We're also very pleased to see you rated the cleanliness of the bathrooms a 10/10 — thank you!

That’s why we were a bit confused by your comment suggesting that the common areas need improvement. If you were referring to the sanitary facilities, please note that most of them are brand new, and we regularly receive positive feedback about both their condition and cleanliness. A small part of the facilities is indeed older, but still very clean and perfectly functional.

Unless your level of expectation is significantly higher than that of most of our guests, we believe the current setup strikes a good balance between comfort, simplicity, and authenticity.

Thank you again for staying with us — we hope to welcome you back in the future!

Warm regards,
Delphine & Laurent

Liked Fabulous!
This campsite is so well organised and run by the owners who keep all the facilities spotlessly clean. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. It’s also very conveniently situated for visiting Bayeux and the D Day landing beaches and memorials, which is a very moving experience.
We thoroughly recommend this wonderful campsite.!

Mulighed for tøjvask.

Disliked Meget sumpet på vores plads grundet et regnvejr. Måtte nærmest sætte teltet helt ind i hækken.

From the manager: Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your kind words about our team and the facilities. We are truly sorry that your pitch was muddy during your stay. Unfortunately, we experienced heavy rain at that time and, as we were fully booked, we were unable to offer you another pitch. We understand that this made setting up your tent more difficult, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We hope to welcome you again under better weather conditions.

Best regards.

From the manager: Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your kind words about our campsite. We are delighted that you appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities, the peaceful atmosphere, and the convenient location for bike rides to nearby beaches and attractions.

Regarding your comments:

Swimwear policy: We understand that our pool dress code may be surprising to some guests. Please note that we are not the only campsite in France with this regulation—swimming shorts are not permitted for hygiene reasons, in line with French public pool standards. This information is clearly indicated on our website and also in the welcome newsletter sent 7 days before arrival.

Wi-Fi: You're right that our Wi-Fi is limited. It is intended for light browsing and checking emails, not for streaming or bandwidth-heavy use. We are aware of this limitation and continue to look for ways to improve it within the technical constraints of our location.

Pets: As mentioned, pets are not allowed on our campsite in order to preserve the peace and safety of all our guests.

We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again in the future.

Warm regards,
Delphine & Laurent

Liked Had a 3night stay at Picard. On arrival was greeted by the owner, who introduced us to all the facilities, these were good. A pool with pool side lounges. Baking deliveries arrive by 8.00am. Pitches a little on the cosy size. But more than adequate. Would we go again. ABSOLUTELY. Loved it.

From the manager: Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for your lovely review — we're delighted you enjoyed your stay at Picard! Just a small clarification 😉: the bread delivery is actually at 9:00am, unless of course you were on English time — in which case, you're absolutely right! 😉 We’re so pleased to hear you'd come back. You're welcome anytime!

Local attractions

Beach days around these parts have rather more significance than in many areas, as the nearest stretch of coastline is that of the D-Day Beaches. The beaches up here aren’t stuck in the past, though: memorials and museums rub alongside family-friendly stretches of sand. For the best mix of history and seaside fun, head to Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer (site of Omaha Beach) or Arromanches-les-Bains. History buffs will no doubt also want to spend at least a day in Bayeux, 20 minutes’ drive away. The ancient 68-metre Bayeux Tapestry draws in huge crowds, but it’s not the town’s only attraction: plan to spend some time visiting the Baron Gérard art museum and the Battle of Normandy, and wandering around the medieval centre. A little further afield (around an hour’s drive) are Mont Saint-Michel and Cherbourg's excellent Cité de la Mer maritime museum and aquarium.
