- Remote and family-friendly campground in the BC Rocky Mountains
- Horseback riding, fishing, hiking and cycling within 45 minutes’ drive
- Dog-friendly creekside sites and forest walks; shops 20 minutes’ drive
When you’re looking to get far, far away from everyone and everything in British Columbia, take a look at Murphy’s Gold Creek Ranch. This forested 25-acre property sits on a mountain creek 20 minutes’ drive from the small town of Cranbrook, and caters for all comers – family tent campers, RVers and van-lifers – looking for peace, the soothing burble of water and the chance to spot wildlife about the place.
Depending on how social/anti-social you feel, you can camp right by the stream, out in an open field or tucked away up the valley among the trees. Wherever you settle, you’ll have private, tree-shaded pitches, a hot tub for chilling in and dramatically star-studded skies on clear nights. There are firepits to cosy up around and lots of rural space to explore – your dogs are welcome to join you on forays into the forest too.
The short roster of facilities includes drinking water, showers and picnic tables; there’s a decent wifi service too – and of course, all the shops, supermarkets, cafés and outdoor adventure hubs of Cranbrook are very conveniently just down the road.
