Pitch
Five well spaced pitches for small secluded site

  • Small dog-friendly site in a gorgeous rural setting in Anglesey
  • A 10-minute drive from Traeth Benllech; half an hour from Snowdonia
  • Cycle to a handful of local beaches and return to set up a barbecue
Designed by a keen caravanner, and with fellow caravan and mobile home users in mind, Swallow Bach couldn’t be a more convenient spot to set up base in Anglesey. The spacious pitches are in a gorgeous rural setting, just 10 minutes’ drive from the nearest beach and half an hour’s drive from Snowdonia National Park. Each pitch (which measures eight by seven metres) is on level hardstanding and has its own water and electricity supply. They also have their own soak away, so you won’t need to fill up the aqua roll or carpet off the grey water – a relief for many. The flat pitches have large surfaces, making it easy to park up. There’s also easy access to the site, as it has an extra-large gate. Plus, the owner’s always on hand to help you out with anything if you need. There’s no toilet or shower block, but there is an Elsan waste point. Anglesey’s gorgeous beaches will probably be one of your main focuses, of course. Handily, there are a handful within cycling distance. Traeth Benllech, 10 minutes’ drive away, and Traeth Lligwy, 20 minutes’ drive away, are two lovely spots. Moelfre (15 minutes’ drive) has yet another. The popular tourist town has Iron Age huts, views of Snowdonia and the Great Orne, and a lifeboat centre. Places like Niwbwrch are no more than 20 minutes’ drive away too – then, get back to the peaceful, friendly site to set up a barbecue or simply melt back into the peaceful atmosphere.

What customers say

A peaceful, back-to-nature campsite with serviced pitches (water/elec). Great for exploring Anglesey, offering excellent value. Toilet/shower facilities are advertised as absent. Minor issues with grass/access in wet weather are being addressed by the owner.

Unpowered grass site

Liked There was plenty of space. The area was clean and looked after. It was very quiet. There were bins around to throw your rubbish. We received detailed instructions to find the site after booking so it was very easy to find on the day as well. The location was very close to the city centre with several supermarkets. Though, you didn’t have that city feel. I loved waking up to the sounds of the birds.

Fully-serviced concrete and grass site

Liked Nothing

Disliked When we arrived on Friday 22 May, the site was completely unmanned and the grass was extremely overgrown and poorly maintained. The pitch itself was also not level, making it unsuitable and uncomfortable to stay on. Overall, the site was not as advertised.

There was also a permanent resident onsite whose behaviour made us feel very uncomfortable. He was playing loud offensive music and openly smoking weed near campers. Due to the atmosphere and feeling unsafe and uncomfortable, we were forced to pack up the following morning and leave early.

This experience was completely unacceptable and did not match the description or standards advertised when booking. As a result, I am requesting a full refund.

From the manager: Thanks number of points-

this is the first i have heard of these issues- it seems you are motivated for a full refund- despite staying there the entire week

the pitches are pretty level- no one else in 43 reviews has commented

it is not poorly maintained and the grass is cut weekly- but it grows when you have rain and exceptional sunshine - and no one else this year has made that comment

there is no 'permanent resident' - but on a bank holiday there were a lot of kids- and if you would have rung me and stated they were playing loud offensive music , or smoking weed - then i would have dealt with that straight away- i do not tolerate any antisocial behaviour - and they would have been aware of the rules on the sight and the consequences for not following - leading to eviction if necessary.

May i suggest if not happy, pick up the phone during your break- i am always contactable rather than simmering and writing a nasty review

No amenities required for me, so it's perfect.

Fully-serviced concrete and grass site

Liked Quiet location, really good value for money. I was only looking a place with electricity and water to park the caravan.

Disliked It was a bit difficult to find the place, even with the owner instructions.

From the manager: Thanks guys. It is CNN known as a well kept secret and I like it like that. Great value in a quiet secluded location.

Fully-serviced concrete and grass site

Liked Locality is great, having power and water at the pitch is fab. The chemical waste disposal point is exactly as expected and has a decent rinse water pressure.

The site is very basic as described, and suited us fine for 4 nights, we were lucky to get a hard standing pitch with gravel almost to the pitch, as other pitches need to be accessed via grass, and motorhomes like ours are notorious for lack of grip on grass that is not bone dry. Just something worth bearing in mind in and being prepared for.

From the manager: Thanks glad you had a lovely time. I think you have the essence of what we are trying to deliver. Peace and tranquility with all services on the pitch.
