What customers say

Lovely campsite, praised for sparkling facilities, roomy, flat pitches, and awesome views. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Handy for pubs and shops. Most visitors love it, though a few note slight road noise and wish for more showers in busy periods. Great for a peaceful, well-kept break.

A clear and dark sky meant great star gazing (if that’s your thing).

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Space of the pitches, friendly & helpful & accommodating owners, beautiful views, lots of open space for children to play, small/medium site, clean toilet & shower facilities, supplied bricks for bbqs & fire pits, apple & plum tree, animals, freezer for freezer blocks, general atmosphere around the site was lovely between campers, great washing up facilities. Fantastic location for visiting many site seeing & walking opportunities - canoeing/kayaking on Lake Vyrnwy & swimming in Rhiwagor waterfall were particular highlights.

Disliked 1 or 2 more showers would be great, but not a major problem, we never had to wait more than a few minutes for one to become free.

Liked Excellent facilities, the best Ive ever seen on a campsite, toilets/showers immaculate and they even provide a family room with sockets.

The staff were very friendly. The pitches were nice and flat. The area is brilliant for walks and there is a nice pub up the road called the punch bowl.

Would have been perfect if there was a little coffee shop on site or if they served pizzas etc of a night.

Disliked Nothing.

Liked This is a great site. Plenty of room on each pitch. Toilets/showers are spotless. The owners are friendly and always around if needed. There’s a pub 15 minutes walk away and a good shop 5 minutes further on then the pub. Also lots of walks close by. We will definitely be returning.

Disliked Just need a few more showers. Everything else is perfect

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Delightful camp site, with stunning views of the Breiddens and the River Severn and Severn way path close by.The tents without hook up are in a separate spacious field which makes for quiet camping. The field is still near to toilets and showers and is level, flat and easy to put pegs in!( most u usual). The toilets, wash basins and showers are spotlessly clean and very attractive. A plus for me was the many hooks to hang clothes, wash bags and towel etc.i. the cubicles. There were well-ordered and clearly labelled bins for recycling and refuse. Everything seems to have been considered to make camping pleasurable and easy. We were even encouraged to sample ripe apples from the orchard!

Disliked Hard to find one.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked We were met with a very warm welcome for 7 nights of camping. The pitches were a good size and clearly marked out. It was a busy site for the weekend, but great to see families enjoying quality time together, but also very peaceful with beautiful views and surroundings. Super clean facilities, washing up area and good area for recycling rubbish. We were encouraged to sample apples and plums from their many trees, the plums were absolutely beautiful. A nice little freezer for ice pack usage. The site was very level and very well looked after, owners were very attentive and caring, they walked over very pitch meticulously checking it over for the next guests. Great location with a super, well stocked nearby shop, which sold Calor gas too. Good location for walks and access to the River and historical features around the bridge nearby. Good area to visit Rodneys Pillar, Lake Vyrnwy is an absolute must to visit. Cute little church nearby too. Great to see caring owners checking on everyone on their quad. Beautiful area for nice sunsets and start gazing, we were lucky to see shooting stars on a lovely clear evening. Great for watching buzzards, red kites and listening to nearby owls. Thank you for a relaxing stay.

Local attractions

Spotted Breidden Hill from the site? Head over to take a closer look – it’s only about 10 minutes away by car and has a circular walking route to follow. For other walks nearby, take a stroll through Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve (10 minutes’ drive) or seek out the waterfall trail to Pistyll Rhaeadr (35 minutes). Lake Vyrnwy (35 minutes) is another fine place for a walk, either taking the lakeside route or following the sculpture trail, and it also has watersports activities including kayaking and windsurfing. And if all of that sounds a bit exhausting, maybe a ride on the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway (25 minutes) will suit? For different days out, have a taste of local history with visits to Powis Castle and Garden (20 minutes) and Chirk Castle (half an hour) or board a canal boat to float across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (half an hour). The sculpture trails at the British Ironwork Centre (20 minutes) make for a fascinating outing too.
