  • Peaceful countryside site within easy reach of Ceredigion coast
  • Less than 15 minutes’ walk to Cardigan Bay beaches, Wales Coast Path
  • Shop and playground on site; five-minute walk to bus stop
A warm west Wales welcome awaits at Wern Mill Caravan Park, a family-friendly site in the peaceful hamlet of Gilfachreda five minutes’ drive from New Quay. The site is well placed for adventurers and explorers: the long-distance Wales and Ceredigion coast paths can be joined within about 15 minutes’ stroll of base, and a bus stop five minutes’ walk along the road serves the scenic coastal towns and villages of this part of Wales, taking you all the way to Aberystwyth or Haverfordwest should you wish. Not that going that far will be an immediate priority… Start with a jaunt into New Quay for days spent sampling the wares (and seeing the busy buzzy workers) at New Quay Honey Farm, hours at sea with eyes peeled for dolphins, and fish and chips by the pretty harbour. Or get bucket and spades at the ready and take the 10-minute amble down to Cei Bach beach for days on the sands. When setting foot any further than absolutely necessary just won’t do, settle in on site instead for a stroll by the stream, a bit of family time at the playground, or idle times using the free wifi across the park too. A small shop is on site for essentials, and there is an outdoor eating area too.

What customers say

Spot on for cleanliness and maintenance. Owners are a gem, facilities are top-notch, and the beach is just a short stroll. Shuttle to New Quay's a bonus! Dog wash and bar are popular. Shower timers and Wi-Fi could be better, but it's a cracker spot for a chill holiday.

Liked Was booked for Jan 2024 , unfortunately due to Dad passing we couldn't make it , the owners was very understanding and honoured our booking for us12 mths later. The day we was fue to travel we found out there been a leak around the rear window , cushions soaked, a quick call to campsite and it wasnt a issue , we arrived the following day and the owners extended the departure date for us .
Upon arrival we was blown away how clean and immaculate the site looked , then looked at the facilities and we was blown away again , was like hotel facilities. There was your waste area , dog wash facilities , dishwasher area , it was all amazing and tidy. Toilet & shower blocks lovely and clean , back ground music playing and was warm too in winter !!! , yes you have to press a button every few seconds in the shower but there are reasons to this and it didnt bother us at all , but my partner was impressed with the hair straightners , made pressing the button worth while lol. Theres also a small childrens play area too. Yes we read the reviews , don't expect reception open during the quiet season , its not viable during winter , but we did see the owners everyday popping into the office and you could still purchase goods if you asked , even beer & wine !! Obviously the bar won't be open to later on in the year , not a problem for us . Wifi was good for us , but tv is hit n miss , but thats nothing to do with the site , we had a tablet as backup anyway to watch anything, so be prepared. To get to the beach was about 15 min walk , low tide we got to New-Quay. There's a Costcutter in New -Quay if you can't find anything on campsite shop. Looking forward to returning , loved it , a credit to you both , been to a few sites and this was one off the best , Thank you Gwawr & Lucy

Liked Lovely and clean campsite
Tidy size pitches with electric, can walk along the beach into new quay or on the road (pavement) if the tide is in, showers and toilet were spotless
We will definitely be back.

VIP powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked What an absolutely beautiful little site. It has everything you could possibly need and a few great extra special touches. The park was extremely well maintained. WiFi on the vip pitch was better than I have at home! My boys didn't want to leave the van ! Toilets & showers were extremely clean . The park for the children was lovely. We didn't visit the bar but it was packed every night . Great location we look forward to visiting again in the summer.

VIP powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Clean and tidy site with great sized pitches, every little detail has been thought about even down to the hair dryer and straighteners in the ladies! Very peaceful with plenty of walks including via the beaches! Lovely little bar open in the evenings and great little shop with the necessities. Very friendly owners and nothing is too much trouble!

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Level gravel pitches, nicely spaced out. Very friendly hosts. Offered to taxi us into town when needed. Facilities so very modern with hair dryer and straighteners available free of charge. Spotlessly clean site with recycling bins. Bus stop just down the road to travel to New Quay Aberaeron or further afield

Disliked 5 second spray of water in showers. Had to keep pushing the button for more water Maybe 20 second sprays would be better!
Also pitch automatically comes with electric hook up, whereas we don't need it as we've got leisure battery's, but on pitch up thats the only option. £80 for 2 nights was a little pricey for winter stay, but was happy to pay that as not many sites open 12 months

Local attractions

Did someone say beach? It’s likely they did, as there are two gorgeous little numbers a short stroll away – take your pick from Cei Bach (10 minutes’ walk) or Traeth Gwyn (15 minutes). Linking the two (and the whole of the rest of the Welsh coastline) is the Wales Coast Path, where you can walk for miles and miles (and miles and miles) with the sea in sight. If the waves are beckoning you closer, cart your surfboard off to the beaches at Aberarth or south of New Quay or head to the watersports centre in New Quay for kit hire and lessons in paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and the like. Head to the harbour here or in Cardigan (half an hour’s drive) for boat trips and, hopefully, glimpses of dolphins. There are plenty of options back on dry land, too: take a walk around the 18th-century mansion at Llanerchaeron (20 minutes), putter along the Teifi Valley Railway (25 minutes) or see the cosy exhibits at the National Wool Museum (25 minutes). If your Wales stay isn’t complete without a castle or two, trips to the towers of Cilgerran or Cardigan (both half an hour) must be on the cards…
