  • Well-maintained site on a family-run farm with mountain views
  • A five-minute drive to the coast; 30 minutes to the Malt Whisky Trail
  • Children’s playground on site and a barbecue hut available for hire
From coastal trails and country paths to golfing, whisky tasting and dolphin spotting, there’s really quite a platter of activities to choose from around Greencraig Pods, Caravan and Camping in Drybridge. This site is part of a family-run farm 10 minutes’ drive away from Buckie, a coastal spot with the works – including restaurants, shops, a swimming pool and access to The Moray Coast Trail. Those of you who take to walking like a duck to water will be in a particularly prime spot around here, as scenery shows off around The Fishwives Route close by. There are many other coastal or country paths around and the historic 18th-century Craigmin Bridge is a nice stop-off on the way, just a few minutes’ walk away. There are golf courses in Buckpool, Strathlene and Cullen, all within 10 minutes’ drive of the site, good news for those of you who are looking to perfect your swing too. You don’t necessarily need to head off site for a dose of activities, though, as there’s a children’s playground on site (frames included). Barbecues are given the green light here too – in fact, there’s a barbecue hut available to hire for a small added cost. Other facilities on site include an amenities block with showers and toilets so that you’ll be able to keep yourself feeling quite prim and proper, ready to sit back and enjoy the views across mountains towards Caithness.

Power optional concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Lovely quiet site, with a view over to Spey Bay on a nice day. Good base to explore the surrounding area with our car

No fault of owners and wouldn't be a problem in dry months, though due to the amount of rain since new year, the ground around the area was very soggy. The road to the pitches is very narrow, so grass around the 3 pitches that were in use at the time, were all churned up with trying to get reversed into/drive out of the pitch space.
Similarly what would be a pretty walk to the bridge, and further, was very wet and soggy ground.

Disliked Again I think this problem was no fault of owners, but due to the very wet and cold weather we've had. The toilet and shower floors were wet, with condensation. It may have been advisable since site so quiet with very few people, to open the doors and get fresh air in to help dry them out.

From the manager: Hello, thank you for the review.

We do have paths all around the site to use for walking to/from the toilet block and reception areas to avoid walking on the grass when it is wet. The bridge is not on our land so unfortunately nothing we can do about this and due to it being in a woodland it is naturally going to be wet and soggy in poor weather.

The mop in the shower block is only there for mopping up wet areas on the floor caused by showering, unsure why it was covered in hairs as it is cleaned regularly and the shower block cleaned on a regular basis also. We have also tried leaving the door open to help with the condensation previously, but again in the cold damp weather this does not work.

Thank you again.

Liked The view across the field. Remote location. The area has very good and reliable internet signal connection. I enjoyed snowy 10 days at the beginning of the January 2025.

Local attractions

Tick off some trails… for everything coastal, there’s the Moray Coast Trail (five minutes’ drive) and for a hillier climb, the Bin of Cullen (15 minutes) will do. From Buckie and District Fishing Heritage Centre (five minutes), the Fishwives Route from Keith to Buckie runs close by the site, so you’ll be able to roll right onto the path once used by fishwives to transport wicker baskets full of fish. You won’t want to get too daring with the Malt Whisky Trail (half an hour), however, as this route is designed so that you can sample Scotland’s best whiskies along the way – a recipe for a slightly slanted walk, if you go full in. History’s also strong around here, from guided tours around Duff House (half an hour) to the 15th-century Auchindoun Castle (40 minutes). A different type of tour starts from the WDC Scottish Dolphin Centre (20 minutes), this time around Spey Bay to spot wildlife. And how about those little activities to fill out your days? Perhaps the Christies Garden Centre (10 minutes), the children’s soft play at Playbarn @ Greenfields (20 minutes), Pinz Bowling (25 minutes), the cinema at Moray Playhouse (half an hour) or Macduff Marine Aquarium (35 minutes)?
