Dunluce camping pod (hot tub)

Liked Comfy bed and lots of thoughtful touches and treats. Toiletries were lovely and the cakes a very welcome pleasure. Loved the hot tub (spotless!) And enjoyed waking to peace and a nice view.

Disliked We were a little unnerved by the robot mower putting itself to bed at 10.30 pm with its headlights!

Local attractions

For romantic oceanside strolls à deux, follow the clifftop walk to the soaring basalt columns of the landmark Giant’s Causeway (10 minutes’ drive). There are other dramatic views from the sprawling remains of Dunluce Castle (five minutes) on its headland, and you can make-believe you’re starring in an episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ with a stroll along the avenue of beech trees at The Dark Hedges (20 minutes). Test your head for heights by making it across the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (20 minutes), suspended almost 100 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, and regain your equilibrium afterwards with a tot or two of Irish whiskey at Old Bushmills Distillery (five minutes). If you’d rather explore on foot – or by bike – there are plenty of quiet country lanes and coastal routes to follow, and keen golfers can get in a round at the well-known Royal Portrush Golf Club (don’t let the spectacular ocean views distract from your game though). For more adrenaline-inducing activities, you might catch some waves off Portrush beach, where there’s a surfing school and gear hire, or have a go at coasteering along the Causeway Coast (all 10 minutes).
