What customers say

Awesome spot with stunning views! Hosts Caron & Tony are legend. Well-equipped sites, some with covered picnic areas and cool VW parking. Toilets/showers usually clean, but watch out for water temp and shower fees. Hilly access, can be windy. Great for exploring.

Power optional grass tent site (XL)

Liked The location was just beautiful! Lovely views right down the valley for miles around-we were so spoilt! ❤️ Very friendly staff who were happy to help and give assistance when we needed to borrow a pole for our tepee and an air pump for our blow up mattress. The camp site is small, which we loved, only eight spaces to pitch, i believe, which is perfect if you want some peace and quiet. There is plenty of space around pitches too so you arent tripping over other people's guidelines and listening to the whole campsites conversations late at night. Clean and well lit toilets and amenities just a stones throw away.

Power optional grass tent site (medium)

Liked Amazing views, cozy campsite, facilities are very clean and stylish, owners are lovely and very helpful.

Disliked Accessibility is limited with its location being up a hill ruling out walking for some. Paying for showers should be more clearly advertised as does make camping there cost slightly more.

Liked None

Disliked I do not recommend this campsite. We went with friends and booked two pitches with electricity. However, when we arrived, it turned out that even though we had already paid, we still had to pay extra for the electricity. Showers are also an additional charge (£2 per person per use), and they are locked with a key. Even toilet paper costs extra.

The tent pitches themselves are very poor – uneven ground, full of holes, on a slope, with only a small patch of soil leveled for the tent. Absolutely no comfort.

We definitely do not recommend this place and will not be coming back.

From the manager: so sad you didnt enjoy your holiday, as it states on website with pitchup we are such good value from our low low low price. We made a choice this year to charge for showers as last year not every camper wanted a shower yet we charged them up front in the cost of the booking. So we thought it was best to charge separately to keep the costs down. This year again we didn't include toilet paper and stated bring your own. or again we could charge £1 per roll. AS IN THE WRITE UP INFORMATION
Pitch up takes the money for the electric from the person who is infront of the computer making the booking (so maybe you missed the tick box) we wouldn't of charged you unless this was not paid for. If that was me I would of taken that up with pitch up or the owners of the campsite at the time. Which you did not. But mention it on a review.
About the uneven ground etc. It states in the title of our name "guyscliffe FARM" it describes the pitches and the sizes, also the wonderful views, we have also accomodated people that come without a pump for their blow up beds. (maybe invest in one of those for your next camping experience) :)

Good stay and very friendly site.

Unpowered grass tent site (secluded)

Liked Location and pitch by the sheep. Covered area with picnic table was great. Charged out e-bike battery in the lodge. Very welcoming despite arriving very late. Relaxed about leaving times.

Disliked Water not hot in showers.

From the manager: Hi sorry about the showers glad you mentioned it and I was able to sort that out.

Local attractions

During days on site when the wind’s blowing in the right direction, it’s said you can hear the wolves and monkeys from the nearby Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park. Rather admire animals than listen to them? Then head five minutes’ drive down the road over to this zoo or drop by the aquarium in Ilfracombe’s harbour (15 minutes). Watermouth Castle (10 minutes) is right within striking distance, and a trip there can easily be combined with some surfing or watersports at Woolacombe beach (20 minutes), Croyde beach (half an hour) or Saunton Sands (half an hour). While at this seaside spot, you can’t miss the 63-foot-high Verity Statue towering over town. Snap a photo of the striking structure, then – if it’s high tide – take a dip in the natural Victorian bathing pools at its feet. Brimming with marine life and a touch warmer than the sea, they’re stellar for snorkelling. To set eyes on other coastal creatures, take a boat trip from Ilfracombe and see the seals basking on the mainland, or speed towards Lundy Island for a chance of sighting seabirds, porpoises and dolphins. Back on dry land, the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth (half an hour) – linked by a Victorian-era water-powered railway – are also well worth a look.
