Great vibe, like a festival! Friendly folk, top loos, pick your own spot. Good food, local exploring ace. Some noise/bumps but mostly brilliant value, staff welcome you back.

Liked Reasonable price. Good location for our plans.

Disliked Shower and toilet block were unclean, the lights in the ladies switched off mid shower, which itself was a tepid trickle via a push button required every 3 seconds!
All in all, not a good experience.....

From the manager: If you are talking about the talcum powder, I was as surprised to find that everywhere considering there was only you and one other was on site. Unfortunately I don’t check the toilets after every use as it a bit invasive so these things can happen if people don’t clean up after themselves. Given the temperature is so much lower in the nighttime, the shower may feel colder if you use it after dark, which given the light turning off, you did.

Friendly welcome, clean modern toilet/shower block

Unpowered grass site

Liked A quiet site with a good, modern toilet block with everything working.
Plenty of space to pitch tent (early September).
Not far from a Tesco (estimate 2 miles) and a quaint pub at St. Merryn (1 mile away).
Close to coves (2-3 miles).
One can drive or cycle into Padstow, although it is hilly for cycling going back.
Friendly staff.
There are coastal walks starting in Padstow.

Liked That you can choose your own pitch.

Disliked The length of the shower. It's a push button and lasted 20 seconds at the most.
Dog poo on pitch when we arrived.

Liked Pitch where you like, lots of space, showers and toilets were clean and tidy, amazing stargazing at night, great sunsets, fresh drinking water available

Disliked Website & booking confirmation stated bar and food available during school holidays all week. On arrival we checked & were told both open at 7pm. Unfortunately nothing opened at all and we had planned on eating on site and were unable to drive as had multiple beers by this point & didn't fancy a half hour walk & back into Padstow in the dark. Next day again nothing opened but we had bought some supplies just in case. We still had a great time regardless but worth triple checking if this is why you are coming as we wouldn't have booked site if we had known bar and food not available.

Local attractions

There are many pursuits to ponder in the Padstow area, so fingers crossed you have plenty of time on your hands during a trip here. The beaches should be your first place to explore – after getting a glimpse at the closest sandy spots, like Harlyn and Trevone (under 10 minutes’ drive), set off for the scenic Bedruthan Steps (15 minutes). Here for the waves? Hire boards in Padstow (10 minutes) and head for Harlyn (10 minutes) or drive to Newquay (half an hour) and check out the UK’s biggest surf scene. This town also has masses to keep kids occupied, including beaches, a zoo and aquarium. If you need more nipper-friendly places to visit, Camel Creek Adventure Park (10 minutes) is close by and has theme park rides to keep pint-sized thrill-seekers engaged. When travelling child-free, put Prideaux Place (five minutes) on the itinerary – this Elizabethan manor is easy on the eye and also has stunning views out across Padstow’s historic harbour. After having a good nose around the house and grounds, keep the grown-up shenanigans going with a visit to the Trevibban Mill Vineyard (10 minutes), which organises tours and tastings.
