Power optional grass and earth tent or trailer tent site

Liked Absolutely everything. I was met with a smile and tour of the site. The place is stunning, the amenities excellent. Possibly the cleanest and best smelling camp toilet I have been in and having an almost outdoor shower in the rain was amazing. The animals on the site, peacocks, dogs, horses and two new lambs just made it even better. I cannot recommend this site enough. To call it a campsite does not do it justice. I will be coming back to the area just to stay here again. Thank you to the owners for making it a great stay.

Power optional grass and earth tent or trailer tent site

Liked We stayed for 11 nights for our summer holiday. The owners were so lovely! They let our children visit all the animals on the farm and couldn’t be more kind and helpful.
The campsite is a small idyllic piece of heaven in rural Cornwall. Quiet and peaceful, and a sheltered sun trap, you wake up to the view of horses in the opposite field and perhaps some geese waddling by. For our young children who love animals this added extra fun and excitement to our holiday. The facilities are eco friendly and basic which was fine for us. The outdoor shower uses filtered local spring water and is lovely and hot.
Tregonger is also a really good central location for exploring north Cornwall with Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and plenty of gorgeous local beaches within a half an hour drive. And Padstow only slightly further. We couldn’t recommend this place enough, and we will be back!

Disliked Nothing! We had the best stay!

Local attractions

It’s all too easy to fall under the spell of gorgeous Cornwall when you spend the day visiting magical Tintagel Castle (25 minutes’ drive), once a medieval powerhouse and soaked in Arthurian legend, photographing the cute-as-a picture narrow inlet at Boscastle Harbour (20 minutes) and walking up to Golitha Falls (half an hour) though moss-and-lichen covered woodland. There are more testing hikes up Bodmin Moor to the giant slabs of stone at Rough Tor (40 minutes) or the cairn at Brown Willy (35 minutes), the highest point in Cornwall. If you hit a day when the weather doesn’t play nice, you can spend time undercover in giant biospheres full of sculptures and rare plants at the Eden Project (45 minutes). When all the kids want to do is paddle in the sea, head for Trebarwith Beach (20 minutes) where you can also go rockpooling, or photogenic Bossiney Cove (25 minutes), something of a local secret approached by a natural tunnel through the cliffs. When conditions are right, Widemouth Bay (also 25 minutes) is a popular destination for surfers.
