Our spacious site is situated in a pretty meadow in the countryside on a working farm, providing a peaceful and hidden spot on the Isle of Wight. It’s the ideal spot to relax and unwind.
At Retro Staycations, we have 5 large traditional grass pitches, each offering optional electrical hook-up and fresh water supply. All pitches are level and unmarked, allowing friends and family groups to pitch up together. Additionally, there is a plentiful supply of non-electric grass pitches.
All camping pitches boast a great view of the downs with friendly farm animals grazing in the neighbouring field.
There is a heated toilet block containing separate male/female facilities and hot showers. There are washing-up sinks, free car park and on-site farm shop. We can also provide you with discounted ferry travel to the Isle of Wight!
PLEASE NOTE: We do not pre-allocate camping pitches. You can choose your pitch, from those available, on arrival.
Power is via a 16amp hook-up socket. If you book a pitch with power, please ensure you bring a relevant 3-pin UK Electric Hook-Up plug and cable to enable you to plug in!
As Retro Staycations is located on a working farm, any dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and looked after responsibly. This is to ensure the safety of all animals as cattle graze in the neighbouring field. Dogs that are on the government-banned dogs list will not be considered.
There are several grey waste emptying points on site. NEW FOR 2025! Elsan chemical waste disposal point which is free to use for anyone camping with us. BBQ’s and fire pits are permitted, so long as they’re raised off the ground.
Situated just off the south coast of England, the Isle of Wight is easy to get to and a wonderful holiday destination to explore all year round.
Retro Staycations is well located just outside of the picturesque seafront town of Ryde, the largest town on the Island. Boasting fine Georgian and Victorian buildings, a rich mix of thriving independent pubs and restaurants, Ryde is best known for its award-winning golden sand beaches, seafront promenade and marina. The town offers great transport links to all areas of the Island.
Ryde is just a short crossing from the mainland and offers a wonderfully laid-back vibe and a nostalgic holiday escape. Special discounted ferry travel is available to all guests!
The family-run farm has a shop containing local produce including eggs, milk, beef, pork and a wide variety of freshly picked vegetables. You can pre-order breakfast baskets with locally sourced ingredients grown and reared directly on the farm.
Around the farm, you’ll see ducks, sheep, lambs, pigs, cows and chickens, plus an abundance of wildlife, from Isle of Wight red squirrels, rabbits, woodpeckers and more.
It is possible to hire the whole site for your special event or celebration.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.- The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dog Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
- Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
- At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.
- Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.
- There is no reception building on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.
