What customers say

Friendly staff (June & Julie!) praised for helpfulness. Peaceful, back-to-nature spot with space, cow views. Clean loos, hot showers, fire pits, good food hut. Country escape near London. Slight road noise noted, earplugs suggested. More showers needed. Adult field parking requires carrying gear.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked We loved everything. Such a wholesome campsite, we were greeted with smiles from June and Juilie and made to feel welcome straight away. The tea stall run by Julie was a great surprise, serving great food at a very reasonable price. The location was brilliant, lovely local walks and an awesome farm shop 10 min drive away selling fresh meat, and some delicious cider (Middle farm). Would recommend this campsite to anyone!! Thank you!!!

Liked Very peaceful and quiet campsite with a lovely friendly owner who was very helpful and good at managing pitches. Another very friendly and helpful lady in the little café. We were made to feel very welcome. Clean and adequate facilities. Was lovely to have the chance to have a firepit and wood.

Disliked There was some traffic noise but we had earplugs so slept very well.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked The lovely warm & friendly welcome, the view of the cows and the countryside, proper flushing toilets & hot showers, loads of pitch space, onsite food van serving fantastic and good value food along with drinks & sweets etc, great quality logs and fire pit available. Absolutely ideal for anyone really, it had everything you could want!

Disliked Nothing to dislike, one thing some may notice is ever so slight road noise but it’s really nothing problematic. Can’t help the odd car passing and I definitely would not consider it loud or off putting in anyway

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Really friendly staff and great breakfast available!
Definitely feels like an escape to the country yet so close to London (in a car)

Disliked Sadly there was ongoing traffic background noise at night. I didn't notice it in the day. Some earplugs would be recommended if you are sensitive to sound.

Local attractions

The farm is well placed for seeing the best of Sussex east and west, the countryside and the coast, with walks, bike rides, country houses, gardens and cliffs all close by. The 100-mile South Downs Way runs from Winchester to Eastbourne; if you prefer to pedal, the 14-mile Cuckoo Trail passes through Hailsham on its route from Heathfield to Eastbourne Park (bikes can be hired near the site). Oakfield Farm is at the head of the Cuckmere valley, a grass chalkland and wildlife haven with views towards the River Cuckmere and the Seven Sisters, the chalk cliffs between Seaford and Eastbourne. Look out for the Litlington white horse carved into the chalk cliff and for Devil’s Dyke, the longest and deepest dry valley in the country and called ‘the grandest view in the world’ by John Constable. Both spots are, of course, where you should bring a picnic...
