What customers say
Great Dent village location, lovely scenery, good local pubs & walks. Staff welcoming, facilities clean. Some found it overcrowded on bank holidays, with cramped pitches & disorganisation. Coin showers a niggle for a few.

The scenery…

Liked The scenery
Disliked Couldn't see much of the scenery. The camp-site was overcrowded. Guide ropes overlapped with neighbouring tents. No space for children to play, barely any space to sit out front of the tent as the cars were parked so close. Would not return.

Liked Location
Disliked To many tents crammed onto one field.
Less then 1.2 metres between us and neighbours on all sides.
Electric splitters so 7 tents onto a 4 outlet unit. Not safe

Good location to explore. Close to local…
Powered grass caravan site
Liked Good location to explore.
Close to local pubs and village shop.
Nice cafe at entrance to site.
Disliked Toilets could do with a freshen up.
Bank holiday weekend resulting in site being very busy and allocation of pitches uncoordinated.
Pre booked grass pitch but was located on small concrete plot with no area to sit outside.

Dreadful

Liked Nothing
Disliked Horrendous stay at the campsite!!!!
Dangerously overcrowded with triple the number of people crammed onto the site. Tents very close to one another and a high fire risk. Very loud until the early hours and strong smell of weed. Not enough hot water or showers/ toilets for the number of people.
Extension leads were being used to provide electricity to extra tents from the hook up points. Fire waiting to happen. Greed over safety.
Would never stay again and highly suggest no one else should stay either.

Very disappointing

Liked We didn't stay.
Disliked It was the bank Holiday weekend and we expected the site to be busy, but it was ridiculously full. Vans and tents were crammed in, absolutely no room to move. We just drove straight out.

Wouldn’t stay again but the dales were spectacular.
Powered grass caravan site
Liked The views it was stunning.
Disliked Didn’t like the showers or toilets, they were not cleaned regularly enough for the volume of holiday makers it was bank holiday weekend and it was very noisy and cramped. Pitch was on a decline.
Food in the cafe/museum was extortionate!
Bacon roll, egg and bacon roll, eggs on toast and a full breakfast was £48! It was ludicrous and not worth the money. Our 4 night stay was over priced too! You also have to pay for showers.
Electricity kept tripping due to so many caravans on one electric point.

Liked Location
Disliked I have never known a campsite so busy, the owners promote greed over customer satisfaction.
£30 per night to pitch a small one man tent should get you free access to the shower facilities but that's not the case.
Their onsite café charges £8 for a bacon sandwich, when i expressed surprise I was told it's the 'going rate' these days. One short trip into Hawes later we'd paid £4 for a very tasty sausage and egg sandwich at a sit down café.
My advice, don't go. But if you do bring your own food and a selection of coins for the showers...

Powered concrete slab caravan site
Liked Really well organised arrival. Dent is an absolutely lovely village with a couple of pubs (one serves food) and a couple of coffee shops. Great walks from the site. Facilities really clean and everything we needed.
Disliked The roads getting to the site are pretty scary in a motorhome !! Very narrow at times and some single track roads - so check your route.
The site was very busy - but it was bank holiday weekend. Despite that it felt well organised and was quiet at night.
