What customers say

Well-kept, clean, spacious site with a relaxed vibe. Guests loved the great facilities (showers, loos) and the handy bar/food. Brilliant for exploring the Northumberland coast – near beaches and sights. Family-friendly with a play area. Some found facilities basic, noted occasional noise and service availability.

Liked Layout- open plan area for play, eating and bar made it lovely and relaxed for the grown ups, allowing the children to play all together. Good sized pitches allowing for bbqs and fire pits.

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site (family)

Liked Lovely clean site, well laid out, easy to navigate to and quite a good location. Nice bar & food hut on site although we didn’t use it as had brought our own. Looked ace though with the lights and fire pit. Nice play area for little ones, but our son was too old so didn’t use it.

Disliked Toilets and showers are a bit open and when the site was full they are quick to run out of toilet roll and not well lit in them at night (shower wise - I used the adult only ones early in the morning which were much nicer and a little more private).
Shame that some kids wrecked the giant check chair on the Sunday - unnecessary & unfair on others, including on the site’s owners as they’ll have to replace that now.
Tip for others - the closest pub in Boulmer (fishing boat inn) is closed from 5pm on Sundays and all day on Mondays. We didn’t realise until we had walked down to it at 6pm on Sunday.

Camping pod

Liked From the moment we arrived everything was great! We stayed in a glamping pod and so much was provided! The location was great with the beach only an 20min walk (5min drive with parking) and the vibe of the campsite was brilliant! Everyone was there to have a great time, staff were really friendly and we had the most amazing pizzas for tea from onsite! We took our 8 year old daughter who had the best time, in a clean and safe environment and the dog also had a great time.

Powered grass and gravel campervan site

Liked The facilities, including the bar and food shack. Toilets werre always clean and loved the quirky funny signs inside. The play area was basic, but the kids had a great time. Location was good as it was not far from the A1 and close to some lovey towns like Alnwick. They use solar to power their electric and try to be eco friendly, which they do well at.

Disliked The ground was a bit difficult to anchor in the hooks due to it being a bit gravely. The bins were difficult to decipher into recycling and landfill waste.

Liked Lovely campsite, nice and peaceful.
The site was very clean and the grounds are very well kept. The Gin Tin bar was great and very chilled vibe.
Toilets and showers was very clean and regularly checked. Great and reassuring security walking around on an evening too.
This was our second visit and will be back again.

Local attractions

Set your compass towards the sea… whether it’s walking and cycling around Seaton Point (10 minutes’ drive), watersports down at Alnmouth beach (10 minutes) or dipping in and out of the sand dunes at Warkworth beach (15 minutes), there are plenty of coastal landscapes to choose from around here. As for the beach towns, Craster (15 minutes) is all about the kippers and art galleries. If you plan ahead, you could book a fishing trip from the harbour – or make a day of it and check out the National Trust’s Dunstanburgh Castle (15 minutes) nearby to see what life used to be like in the 14th-century fortress. Another commanding castle resides in Alnwick (10 minutes), but this town is also a sure bet for browsing bookshelves in the bookshops, ambling around gardens or rolling onto the steam railway. Those of you who fancy another beach day might want to go to its sandy shore or continue the coastal party in Amble (20 minutes), where beach huts, fish shacks, canoeing, kayaking and boating make for a classic day out.
