  • Peaceful family-run park at Skipsea on the East Yorkshire coast
  • Burton Agnes Hall 15 minutes’ drive and Bridlington 20 minutes
  • Playing field and dog-friendly farm walk; pub five minutes’ stroll
A spectacular coastline and fantastic beaches await at Mill Farm Country Park, right on the edge of Skipsea in East Yorkshire. This quiet (no noise after 10pm, please) and family-run park also makes a handy base for visits to museums, galleries and historic stately homes as well as hiking, birdwatching and fishing. The main building on the field contains the toilets and showers, plus electric sockets for hairdryers and shaving; there’s a designated room for mobility-impaired guests with handrails, a standard-height loo and a low-level washbasin and mirror, and there’s also a room containing tourist info and sinks for washing dishes or veg prep. A three-acre mown playing/games field is just off the main pitching area, but note there is no play equipment there, so please bring your own balls, rackets and so on. Trees have been recently planted and a very popular walk created along the edge of the farm field – you’re welcome to exercise any dogs on this track, which is just across the road from the pitches. The centre of Skipsea is five minutes’ walk away, with a pub that serves food, a tearoom with an ice-cream parlour and a village shop.

Liked Lovely quiet site, very rural , pitches were large and mainly flat, toilets and showers very clean and accessible, disabled toilet at the rear is a nice touch, dogs loved the walk which is opposite the site, no issues with WiFi on Vodafone, better than I expected, Great little pub in the village, fair prices and the burger and chips were excellent.. nice drive to hornsea for seafront and shops .. would highly recommend if you like it quiet. Although the Owls were noisy 😂

Liked What a perfect weekend we have had at mill farm, as soon as we arrived we was welcomed by the lady owner sorry I forgot your name. Was a quick and easy check in, the lady showed us where to go on the field. Told us some camping tips also which we have definitely taken on board.

We was number 66 which is across the field to the toilet id request nearer to the toilet next time just for the kids mainly.

There is a dog walking field but dogs must be on a lead while on the field at all times.

The board inn pub it 5 mins away that does really nice food although they had ran out of draft beer this weekend and only had one draft on.

The skipsea beach club is also 5/10 mins on the road we find in the summer there is bouncy castles for the kids and a little park with 2 swings and a climbing frame.

We took the dog down threw skipsea sands to the beach and he had an amazing time 5*****

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked It was our first visit to Mill Farm and we were pleasantly surprised! We camped in a tent and could not believe the size of each pitch. It was very spacious with a massive green in front for children or big children (adults) 😂 to play! The facilities are clean and the owners were very friendly which made our stay fantastic! It is a quiet campsite but ideally located for visiting a number of beaches. The village of Skipsea is very quaint and has a lovey shop and the local pub which is only a five minute walk and was also dog friendly! We will definitely be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone who loves camping or the great outdoors! Thanks for a great holiday!

Local attractions

From the park, you can be on quiet Moos Beach within 20 minutes’ walk. For days at bigger East Yorkshire resorts, think Bridlington (20 minutes’ drive) and its choice of sandy beaches, amusement arcades, rib and fishing trips from its harbour, and ornate tapestries in the 12th-century priory. Hornsea (10 minutes) is another family-friendly seaside gem, with a traditional prom, cuddly animals at Honeysuckle Farm and creepy-crawlies at Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo. Even if it rains there is always something to do – discovering some of East Yorkshire’s most historic houses for starters. Stately Burton Agnes Hall (15 minutes) has an acclaimed art collection as well as walled gardens scattered with topiary, while Tudor-era Burton Constable Hall and Grounds (25 minutes) is best known for its immaculate gilded interiors and walks through extensive parkland. If it’s longer walks that you’re after, stroll along the soaring chalk cliffs to the 17th-century lighthouse and stunning North Sea views at Flamborough Head (half an hour). Take binoculars on the cliff paths around RSPB Bempton Cliffs (also half an hour) to watch nesting puffins and gannets in their thousands between April and July.
