  • Pitches and main facilities all wheelchair accessible
  • Half an hour's drive from the beaches of the Norfolk coast
The kilns may be old but the facilities – them’s all set for the 21st century. In fact, The Old Brick Kilns has got things so well sorted it’s even won awards for its offerings. All your everyday needs have been considered by the thoughtful folk at this peaceful rural site: there's a launderette that takes card payments, a tourist info point stacked with handy pointers and first-rate washrooms with underfloor heating. The shop’s shelves are filled with various essentials and treats, and you can call in a day ahead to order warm bread and fresh croissants for a leisurely breakfast. If you’re here at the right time, site staff can sort your evening drinks too: the bar is open on certain nights, with ales and ciders up for grabs. Should you choose to lounge about on site for a bit (as indeed you should…) there are wildflower meadows to skip through and a fishing pond that you’re welcome to dangle your rod into for a small charge. A playground, table tennis and games room are all on hand for the entertainment of small people. This nifty Norfolk location, 15 minutes from Fakenham, has you well placed for all sorts of outings too – beaches, nature reserves and stately homes are all within a half-hour drive. Guests travelling with wheelchairs or buggies will be chuffed to note that this is a pleasingly accessible site, with plenty of ramps and firm pathways to aid manoeuvres around the place.

What customers say

Top spot! Immaculate, well-kept grounds, brilliant modern showers. Friendly staff, spacious pitches, great shop & bar with yummy food. Perfect for exploring Norfolk. Highly recommended, keen to return. Only minor gripes: narrow lane & occasional WiFi woes.

Liked Beautiful and very well-kept campsite. Camping pitches were in a lovely field and well spaced with easy access to electric/water. Toilet/shower blocks were not far and were kept clean. Bonus was having shower rooms with a sink and hair dryer in them, as well as shower cubicles in the main block. The fishing pond was very picturesque with plenty of platforms to fish from- my son spent most of our stay here! The shop had a small amount of produce. There is access to a small fridge and freezer which was very handy. The bar was great, not having to leave the site to go for a drink and the outdoor seating area was lovely, looking over the fishing pond. Wifi was accessible across the site. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back!

Powered concrete slab caravan site (adults only)

Liked The site layout is excellent - some private areas, an adult only area, well kept grounds and pretty flowers in boxes at the entrance.
Barney's grill is a good idea - only really burgers on offer - but its possible to order pastries and the shop is well stocked.
The dog walk is great (if only the selfish owners would pick.up after their dogs 🐾🙄).
The larger bathroom was spacious and clean and never seemed to be busy.
Laundry operated by card is a great idea.
There are lovely dog walks off the site too - especially into the woods in this hot weather.
I don't fish - but the pond was lovely to look at.
The lady at reception on arrival was lovely.
The lady cleaning the large block.was friendly and after I mentioned there was no mop or squeegy to wipe the shower floor in the small block a mop and bucket appeared 🙏✨️
Lovely trees around the site for much needed shade
Plenty of bins
Fresh water
Chem loo disposal points

Disliked No soap.in the small bathroom for 3 days (Sat to Mon) - I did tell Reception
No toilet roll in the first cubicle on Saturday night/ Sunday morning (the site was full so not surprising surely)?
The teenagers ignoring signs to stay off the dog walk in their bikes and an "adults only" sign - as nobody was checking I.spoke to them (parents .... hello!)
The stink from the cesspit when it was emptied on Friday afternoon - but there is never a good time for maintenance!!

Local attractions

The good folk of Norfolk know a thing or two about gorgeous coastlines, so it’s highly recommended that you bag a bit of beach time while you’re here: the great sandy swathes at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham are both about half an hour away by car. With coast comes wildlife, and the places to find creatures around here are the RSPB reserve at Titchwell Marsh (35 minutes’ drive) and the boat trips that leave Morston Quay (20 minutes) to see England’s biggest seal colony, which hangs out on or around Blakeney Point. It’s not all about the coast, however – inland’s got plenty of treats to offer too: give the royals a wave at Sandringham (half an hour’s drive), wander through 100 acres of fragrant lavender fields in Heacham (35 minutes) and sniff out some history at medieval Walsingham (15 minutes) or the stately homes Blickling Estate and Houghton Hall (both 25 minutes).
