What customers say
A friendly, peaceful spot offering great value and views. Clean facilities, spacious pitches, and a welcoming vibe. The cafe and alpacas are big hits! Steep toilet walk and bumpy roads are minor points. Lots of return visits planned.

Down by the owners property you can have a lovely breakfast
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked The view the lake was very nice
Disliked The way down the hill it’s got pot holes everywhere which isn’t good for vehicles at all and Due to the weather the ground was mushy muddy and wet which made the tent covered we also lost our tent in the wind

From the manager: Hi Aden
You have been here before so you know the site well. Please remember to read your booking confirmation in full, so you are fully aware of the gate lock code so you can then enter and leave the site at your leisure.
If you decide to camp during one of the wettest periods on record and during 2 nights of heavy rain, yes the grass is going to be saturated.
With reference to your blown away tent, it appears that, as there was very little wind on the day you were leaving, your tent was abandoned and chucked in the bushes as it was soaking wet when we recovered it. Likewise there were bags of rubbish left on the site which we had to dispose of, ourselves. There are bins everywhere dotted around our site for you to use this very purpose.
Granted, the track has been terrible this year as the rain has constantly washed out pot holes and I have lost count the number of times I have had to use my digger to fill in pot holes on our track which is over half a mile long. It can only be done during dry spells and the next dry spell we have, I will be repeating this process, yet again.
We have a campsite rule which states that customers must dispose of all their litter in the bins provided so we were not pleased when we saw the mess you left behind. As you have been here before we must impress that if this occurs again, we will have no option but to refuse your booking and return your funds.
Many thanks
Wassell Grove
Excellent value for money! Great views over…
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Excellent value for money!
Great views over towards Birmingham.
Good facilities.
Friendly welcome.
Disliked Traffic noise.
Exposed pitch meant tent was buffeted by the wind.
Walk to facilities block at night was longer, darker, and steeper than ideal (head torch was useful).
Site was generally a bit scruffy (not litter).

Level pitch, helpful staff, decent shower and toilet
Unpowered concrete and grass motorhome site
Liked Nice and quiet, small and secure, lovely cafe and very helpful and polite staff.
Disliked Road was awful to drive on to get down there, too many pot holes, and as I've got a low bumper had to be very careful. Grounded the van a couple of times. Pitches were a bit narrow too and got mud all over my trainers and in the van. Maybe some sawdust around the edges of the pitch may have helped

A great breakfast in the heart of Birmingham and the Black Country
Unpowered concrete and grass motorhome site
Liked Spacious pitches and a great price per night.
Clean and tidy site.
Everyone on site was welcoming and friendly.
Several clean and private bathrooms with hot showers.
Great value hot food served in the mornings - the £7 freshly-cooked full English breakfast with a hot cup of tea in a proper mug was wonderful to wake up to! Beautiful birds and alpacas on site and hand-made alpaca-wool items on sale.
Several beautiful fishing ponds on site which are very relaxing to walk around.
I had a problem with my second night’s stay which the site owners resolved quickly and professionally.
Looking forward to staying again soon.
Disliked Not the site’s fault but due to its location close to main roads and the M5, traffic noise and sirens can be heard despite the site itself being incredibly peaceful.
It’s worth noting that the toilet/bathroom block is down a steep and bumpy hill from the pitches which isn’t nice to walk in the dark so I recommend bringing a portable loo for night time if possible.
Also worth noting that the hard-standing pitches are at the top of a hill with minimal shelter so are quite exposed to the wind.

A fantastic stay snd would recommend. The owners were great.
Unpowered concrete and grass motorhome site
Liked Booking was simple and communication with Julie was excellent. We made a special request and were pleasantly accommodated.
Showers and toilets were clean and the water for the showers was warm and temperature was adjusted easily.
The surrounding area with a pleasant walk round the three lakes was beautiful. The Al Pacas were a joy to see. If you like fishing you can do so at the lakes, though there naturally is an additional fee.
We stayed for two nights at the end of January 2026 in a campervan and the cost for two people was £16 per night, and an additional tent for one at a cost of £8 per night. We though this was a fantastic price for the pitch.
Chemical and grey water disposable facilities are available as was the need for water if needed.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay bearing in mind it is January when we stayed.
One thing to bear in mind is accessing the toilets and showers, you do have a small but steep incline, though if one has a mobility issue, and if you have a vehicle, you can drive to the shower/toilet block.
Disliked When you come off the main road do be careful of the road, as it has some deep potholes, not the responsibility of the owners of the fishing and campsite.
