  • Well-kept caravan pitches next to the Shropshire Union Canal
  • Ironbridge, Attingham Park and the Wrekin within 40 minutes' drive
  • In the grounds of a pub with home-cooked meals and a canalside garden
Parking your motorhome in a peaceful canalside location is a lovely thing. Then again, picking a pitch next to a pub is fantastic for convenient evening meals and drinks. It therefore possibly goes without saying that Wharf Caravan Park – which manages to roll both of those features into one truly splendid Shropshire location – is a real winner of a site. About 10 minutes’ drive from Market Drayton, this park sits right next to the Shropshire Union Canal, giving you easy access to the towpath for walks, fishing or just relaxing and watching the canal boats. It’s also very handily situated in the grounds of a friendly family-run pub that serves home-cooked meals daily as well as keeping a great selection of cask ales, beers, wines and other drinks. Settle down in a cosy corner by the fire in winter, or take your drinks out into the garden in summer – the grounds run down to the canal’s edge so it’s a wonderful spot for a scenic alfresco pint. And of course the major bonus is that you’ll be staying just a couple of minutes’ walk away – so there are no discussions to be had about whose turn it is to drive… The park itself has been nicely set up too, with well-spaced pitches (six metres between each one) that all have water and electric hookups and access to a chemical disposal point. There’s also drinking water, a washing-up area and 24-hour access to toilets and showers. Families and dogs are welcome at the caravan park, but please note that dogs can't be taken into the pub.

What customers say

Quiet, clean canalside spot. Great location, pub's good food. Generous pitches. Toilets a bit far/dated but clean. WiFi/phone signal weak (some liked it!). Some electric issues. Pub hours/seasonal pitches noted. Many would return.

Liked Very peaceful, friendly people in neighbouring caravans

Disliked The pub has limited opening times and is geared up to the locals and regulars and not to people staying in caravans unless your on a seasonal pitch.
The electricity kept tripping and couldn’t cope even when the kw adjusted inside our van.
Mobile phone signal is very poor unless your on EE.

Liked Location was amazing, quiet and peaceful. Beautiful. Next to a canal. Clean and the pub/restaurant was lovely. Having extensive remodelling and extensions so looking forward to returning

Disliked Distance to the toilets/showers and only 1 of each. Had to walk across the road and behind the pub with not much lighting. We’re dated but clean and hot. No Wi-Fi but didn’t expect it as of the area and even though teenagers not happy it was a blessing.
