  • Peaceful family-friendly rural site in the Lincolnshire Fens
  • A 15-minute drive from Boston and 40 minutes from Lincoln
  • Top spot for aviation fans: 15 minutes’ drive from RAF Coningsby
Up for peaceful stays full of adventure, exploration and… plane spotting? You’re onto a winner at Bailey Bridge Farm, a family-friendly site 15 minutes’ drive from Boston, Lincolnshire. This is aviation country, 15 minutes from RAF Coningsby and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre. Airplane anoraks should pack binoculars and settle in next to Coningsby to watch the jets zoom by, nosedive into the history at the Battle of Britain memorial site, or head to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, 25 minutes away in East Kirkby, for rides in a Lancaster bomber. Prefer to stay close to the ground? This is the Lincolnshire Fens, so it doesn’t get much flatter than this. That makes bike rides (the site is located on National Cycle Route 1 from Hull to Harwich), hikes and countryside rambles a cinch for all ages and fitness levels. There are trails to follow at Jenny’s Wood, less than 15 minutes away, while more ambitious guests can head in to Woodhall Spa, 20 minutes away, to join the long-distant Viking Way. When a (relatively) lazier time is required, stick around on site to take in the countryside views or bask in the peace. Round off your day with fresh-from-the-barbecue eats, then settle in next to the campfire for cosy and quiet evenings browsing the farm's fast fibre broadband.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Lovely campsite. So quiet so was able to enjoy the birdsong. We were lucky as there were only a couple of other people so the 2 toilets weren’t overrun at all. Very helpful and friendly owners. Lovely area to walk the dog from the pitch. Great to have a summer house with a kettle and microwave to use. And spare food that people had left there for others to sue.

Disliked The shower was actually great according to my husband but I couldn’t pluck up the courage to use it as I wouldn’t have anywhere to put my clothes to get dried and dressed within the shower tent.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Wow.. just wow! What an amazing secret gem of a place. We only stayed for 2 nights in a tent with electric hook up, but do wish we had stayed longer. A beautiful little site run by two beautiful people, who are so thoughtful and kind. There is a little summer house on site that we used when the temperature dropped to 1°C that had a heater.in there, which was very much needed for 10 mins just to take the chill out of our bones, and the facilities to make a hot cuppa. The spot we stayed was by the main paddock and we fell in love with it waking up to real birdsong and laughing pheasants. Spent some time talking to Mike again before we left, and have promised to return soon, which we will do as soon as we can. There are 2 toilets, both are very clean and smell fresh, and a little shed to do pot washing. If you want glam and glitter, dont go.. simples.. this is a pure, honest basic little site that has the warmth and charm that you dont get elsewhere. As for showers.. well.. a strip down wash worked well and head over a bowl to wash hair was worth it to stay here. As I said, its basic, but its beautiful. Well worth it, and cant wait.to go back.
Dear Sue and Mike,
As you add a shower and upgrade it all, please dont lose the charm and raw quality of your site, it really is a lovely place you have, and you, as people, are excellent hosts and it was an honour to stay.
See you soon,
Julie and Dave 😁

Disliked Nothing to dislike about the site itself.

The road in is an experience on its own and nothing to do with the campsite. Its not unsafe, and the locals seem to love it, but luckily, its not a busy road as there are drops both sides and its uneven, so sensible driving is essential.

Liked Quiet site with excellent facilities. The toilet and pot wash area are kept very clean and have everything you need. The pump shower does the job and the Summer House was a very welcome addition when the storm hit! Lovely, friendly owners. We would definitely come back if we were in the area

Liked Loved the Privacy & the Kind, Welcoming Hosts. Beautiful place tucked away in Nature. Really liked the idea of the Communal Building too, with lots of amenities! Outside Toilet & Pot Wash very well presented as well, I honestly felt right at home and cannot wait to return.

Disliked Nothing, it was perfect! The Campsite I have been searching for all these years! I almost don't want to leave a review, I want to keep this fantastic secret all to myself! I have to though, as the whole experience, environment & Hosts really deserve a Fab Review!

Unpowered grass tent site (backpacker, motorcyclist)

Liked Nice site the owners were lovely hosts making sure I knew the summer house was available if I needed somewhere warm and dry. They put me in a nice Secluded corner out of the rain, I’m looking forward to going back in the summer to enjoy the rest of the site and views of the country side. Facility’s were well stocked and clean.

Local attractions

Start explores with a jaunt into Boston, a 15-minute drive from base, to gape at the (rumoured) highest non-cathedral church tower in the world at St Botolph’s, wander through the free museum, clamber aboard a boat for a cruise along the river, or catch the Boston Belle for a seal-spotting trip to the Wash National Nature Reserve. For a taste of history, there’s plenty to entice hereabouts: the 15th-century moated Tattershall Castle should get things started about 10 minutes away, and Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens and the oh-so-pretty Gunby Hall are within 40 minutes. More intriguing options include the Bubblecar Museum (10 minutes) and the spectacularly decorated Kinema in the Woods (20 minutes), believed to be the only UK cinema still using rear projection. Stick to the historical with a trip to Lincoln, 40 minutes from the site, to explore its 11th-century castle, roam its medieval Bishop’s Palace, glide around its cathedral and view one of just four copies of the Magna Carta. (There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and theatres to venture into too…) Prefer wildlife to city walls? Make a visit to the Ark Wildlife Park and Rescue Zoo for close encounters with lemurs, meerkats, llamas and lizards, or flap over to RSPB Frampton Marsh for some birdwatching – both are 25 minutes from base.
