  • Quiet site on a Leicestershire field 10 minutes’ drive from Hinckley
  • Mallory Park or Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre 10 minutes’ drive
  • Seasonal produce in the farm shop; breakfast and lunch available
Leicestershire bound? Perhaps you’ll end up at Bradshaw Farm, a site on a working farm situated between the two rural villages of Stapleton and Dadlington, with Hinckley 10 minutes’ drive away. Pitches are on a nicely level field, and there are simple shared shower facilities. Every last weekend of the month (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and on bank holidays, the site has a range of wine, beer and spirits for guests to buy. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop across the road, where you can pick up seasonal fruit, veg, fresher-than-fresh organic produce and home-grown plants; you can order a hearty cooked breakfast and tasty lunch there too. If you’re looking for a decent selection of pubs and restaurants to try, Hinckley (10 minutes’ drive) is the place to head for; you can top up on any other supplies from the supermarkets while you’re there. In general, this place is a fine choice if you want to get away for some R&R in the countryside. On the other hand, it may not be quite so peaceful on the weekend of July 17–20, when a gathering of the UK’s best tribute bands will be playing at Leicestonbury music festival on the farm, just across the road from the camping field.

Bell tent (six person)

Liked Not much !

Disliked No luxury glamping here, dislikes mostly the dark shower shed, full of handing spiders, no locking door, no lights, 2 dirty loos way to over used for the amount of people there. I was nearly sick it was that bad. provided with furnished bell tent, provided with toaster and kettle then tried to charge us £12 a night to use electric (that was already switched on!) £24 for a cup of hot water I don’t think so!
Left early due to the constant wasps surrounding camp area.
Bell tents to close together.
The pictures are deceiving

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked A lovely space with nice views of farmland and fields. Really easy to arrive and set up into the Bell tent. We booked a basic bell tent and were pleasantly surprised how big and spacious they are. Plenty of outside space with a table for eating at too. We were also offered electric hook up which we hadn't seen was an option so we added this on and they had us connected within minutes. There were a couple of plug sockets so if you wanted to you could bring things to make it more 'glamping' if wanted.
The Farmer (sorry I've forgotten name!) was so friendly, helpful and welcoming as was his wife Wendy. Take a chance to enjoy one of her breakfast as it's delicious!
We loved the basic, laid back set up - really allowed the kids to enjoy the novelty of camping. They have set up some lights outside the Bell tents and fairy lights line the path to the loos which is a nice touch at nighttime. The Kids loved that we were in a real farm and enjoyed seeing the animals - goats, chickens and ponies.
We only had a couple of nights so took the daytime to explore nearby Market Bosworth and Battle of Bosworth sight which I would recommend. If you can tie it in with the train times to watch the Steam Train it's great to see.
Overall a wonderful little break for us at a very reasonable price.

From the manager: Hello there Brian sorry it wasn’t to your liking. We are a very new venture in the campsite world and obviously have lots to learn but think in the 4 months we’ve been going have made a decent job of things as most of the reviews testify. Farm shop was open just not stocked to the brim because of a hectic week beforehand. As for portaloos we are constantly trying to address this and will continue to find best way forward. Thank you for your input and very sorry you don’t want to recommend or come again 😥

Unpowered grass site (pet friendly)

Liked Lovely site, Richard was great
and was very prompt with a show around. He gave a very, very warm welcoming and was very friendly and approachable.
The site is very nice and spacious. I had randomly booked my trip here on the same day of travel, and thankfully I was not disappointed. The site came recommended. This was worth the visit, I would definitely do a winter camp here in the future as it is a hidden gem and has a secure layout.

Unpowered grass site (pet friendly)

Liked As described, a straight forward camping experience with basic facilities, but where the owner couldn't be more attentive, checking all visitors were OK. It was so hot, paddling pools were even on offer inexpensively. I was shown a calf that was barely an hour old that was very special!

Local attractions

When golf is your game, you’ll be pleased to know there are several courses within about 20 minutes’ drive of the site. For watching high-octane pursuits like motor-bike racing, you’ll have to catch the right day at Mallory Park Racing Circuit (10 minutes’ drive). Take a waterside stroll in Market Bosworth Country Park (10 minutes), or learn more about the notorious battle of 1485 on guided walking tours at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (also 10 minutes), where the kids can dress up as knights for the day and there are occasional weekend enactments of fiercely fought medieval battles. If you’d like to know more about the infamous King Richard III, whose remains were found in a Leicester car park, visit his royal tomb at the King Richard III Visitor Centre (40 minutes). Still in the city, you can clamber aboard rockets at the National Space Centre, and let off steam in East Street Lanes bowling alley (both make great choices for any rainy days with the offspring).
