  • Peaceful off-grid Herefordshire glamping on the edge of Peterchurch
  • Golden Valley walks five minutes' drive away; 25 minutes to Hereford
  • Well-equipped yurts with private outdoor space and compost toilet
Hoping to hide away in Herefordshire for a while? Head to Hinton Land Glampsite, on the edge of the village of Peterchurch, where you can tuck yourselves away in a spacious yurt with all its own private facilities for a comfortable countryside break. The yurts at this chilled-out site have been set up in five acres of wildflower meadows where you're more likely to see red kites, fallow and roe deer or other wildlife than lots of other people. Each yurt sleeps up to three people (with dogs welcome too) and is kitted out with rugs, a sofa and comfy chairs as well as proper beds. Yurts here are off grid, but don’t think that means basic – they’re actually very well appointed, as each one has its own (smart and nicely decorated) compost toilet, wood-burning stove and outdoor kitchen with solar-powered fridge, kettle and hob. Outside, there's a lovely private space with outdoor seating and a firepit/barbecue for those of you who'd like to do a bit of alfresco cooking. Not in the mood to cook? Take a walk to the village (about 10 minutes away) for a restaurant and a couple of pubs. There’s also a handy village shop there, and bus services to local towns across Herefordshire or over the border in Wales. There’s plenty to do in this area, whether you fancy walking in the nearby Golden Valley, heading into historic Hereford, visiting castles and gardens or even having a go at llama trekking.
