What customers say

A tidy, friendly spot with great views and level pitches. Toilets/showers are spotless. The pub's a winner for grub and vibe. Staff are super helpful. Brilliant for Peak District walks, though can get a bit noisy when busy.

Liked Nice area, big pitch and plenty of showers.
Donkey sanctuary down the path was a hit with the kids. Pay area bit tired but slide kept kids engaged

Disliked Noisy neighbours on the next pitch
Run down play area.
Pitch 2 close to road so it was noisy.

Unpowered grass campervan or tent site

Liked The playground- it was better than nothing for our 5 year old child.

Disliked The dirty and dated facilities. The toilets / sinks / showered were quite dirty actually and I don’t think they were cleaned the 2 days we were there.
Unfortunately, the pub has already shut here and it seems like they’ve just forgotten the rest of the site. It looked very sad and disappointing.
Unfortunately the pitches back onto each other and the second night we had a group behind us chatting until quite late. We might not have even noticed if the pitches weren’t so close to each other.

Local attractions

This countrified site is close to beauty spots like Dovedale (20 minutes' drive), where you can stroll along the water's edge and picnic by the far-farmed stepping stones. For a more adventurous (and hillier) trek on foot, pick up the nearby Limestone Way in Monyash (five minutes). Looking for cycle hire? Head to Parsley Hay (five minutes) to hire bikes (including accessible models) and tandems. This is where the High Peak and Tissington trails meet (both run along flat former railway lines, so there's little chance you'll run out of puff). Chatsworth House (20 minutes) has grand gardens and elegant interiors to admire (there's also a guinea pig village that's likely to revive any tiddlers suffering from museum fatigue). Buxton (15 minutes) is a spa town of similarly posh repute and is full of boutique shops, ornate terraces and cultural sites (it also plays host to the Buxton Festival throughout the month of July). It's also home to two popular golf courses (the Cavendish Golf Club for hot shots and Peak Practice Golf for newbies).
