General

  • Peaceful dog-friendly Buckinghamshire site with woodlands nearby
  • A five-minute drive to Black Park Country Park for walking and fishing
  • Doggie daycare on site; pub and food shop within walking distance

Clock in for a relaxing time at Stokes Poges Campsite, a peaceful dog-friendly site in Buckinghamshire. With treetop courses and lakeside walks at Black Park Country Park five minutes’ drive away, this site is well-situated for some family (or friends) to spend some quality time, whether it’s visiting London’s sights (a 25-minute journey from the Gerrards Cross train station, five minutes’ drive away) or kayaking around the canals in the Colne Valley Regional Park, 15 minutes’ drive away.

With grassy pitches and woodlands around the site, unwind with a gentle stroll as you please. Things are kept nicely straightforward on site with potable toilets, rubbish bins and running water where you can tend to any water bottles running low.

Fancy bringing your dog along? Happily, dogs are allowed on site. And if you’re planning on visiting one of the local attractions where they can’t come along for the ride, there’s a doggie daycare on site (open Monday through to Friday) where you can leave them while you’re out.

For an evening out, there’s a pub 10 minutes’ walk down the road. Handily, there’s also a food shop five minutes’ walk in the opposite direction where you can fill your pockets with snacks to munch on throughout the day.

Friendly welcome, left to set up as we liked in a circle of 5 tents, kids had loads of places to run and play games, shop and pub close by, only thing i would suggest is take your own toilet.

This campsite is exactly what you need, this is as close to wild camping as you can get but honestly we loved it. Simple portaloo's for toilets and fresh running water in a shed. We loved it and will definitely be back, no clubhouse no shower facilities but honestly who cares, it's camping!!

Loads of room to pitch up, big field to the right as you enter then a wooded area further down to the left.
A short walk to the local co op and I saw a pub on the way there.
    3 x portaloo on site.
Pitch was well located for my ride back home from Staines to the North East after a busy day.
A bit of background traffic noise but I've had a lot worse. All in all I'd stay again.

Spacious pitch, could choose where you liked and was very quiet apart from road white noise in the background. Wash room, but bring your own soap. Communication with instructions good.

    Disliked:

Awful portaloos. Site didn't feel that secure, as a lone female with a 9 yo. Had a coded gate to restrict vehicle access, but open to walk ins and not near any inhabited buildings.

Exactly what we expected for wild camping. No frills but that’s how we like it.
Nice woodlands wrapped around the fields. Good communication from the hosts.
The field was well maintained and clearly marked out entrance and exits.
Wash room had clean water access and one sink if needed.
Plenty of bins for disposal of rubbish.
Portable toilets on site clean enough ( cleaner than some I’ve used)

    Disliked:

Nothing we got what it said on the tin!!
We will come again easy site to camp on and not too far from a local shop and pub if you want them.

Freedom to choose where to camp, stayed in the field one night and under the trees next. Used the doggy day care next to it (Skinners Strolls), which made it convenient for a trip to legoland and Chessington. Pub and shop within walking distance.
