Fantastic, first class place to stay. Nice quiet spacious Camp Site 🤟

May 2026

Liked Absolutely fantastic spot. Brilliant place to stay for a few days or even a week. We’ve had the most fantastic weather which made everything just so much nicer. The facilities are super clean and brilliantly functional. Absolutely banging Site.

Disliked I didn’t like the pricing policy. At £30 a night for a campervan it’s on the slightly more pricey side without any electric but fantastic spot and good Facilities so you can get round that. But £60 for two people in a campervan. That is a lot of money without electric hook up.

Amazing Camp Site. Stunningly kept beautifully located.

Liked What was not to like….. Close to shops Easy to get to Close to town Fantastic layout with great amenities Friendly staff Such a well kept maintained, Camp Site. This is definitely our new best ever municipal Camp Site. In fact, it could compete with Private Camp Site.

Disliked Absolutely nothing

A little piece of tranquillity

Jul 2024

Liked Camp Laurent - An absolute Slice of Wilderness Without the Roughing It. Camp Laurent is not your average campsite. It's a sanctuary, a secret garden for grown-ups. A place where the gentle hum of nature replaces the cacophony of kids, and where the only disturbance to your tranquillity is the distant cluck of a contented hen. Imagine a sprawling meadow, dotted with a mere ten pitches. No sardine-like squabbles for a spot, just ample elbow room and a sense of blissful isolation. It's as if you've stumbled upon a private camping utopia. And the facilities? The showers are hot, the toilets are spotless, and the swimming pool is an oasis of cool, clear refreshment. It's the kind of place where you can actually have a leisurely float on an adult-sized inflatable rubber ring (provided for you) without fear of tiny terrors diving in trying to capsize the thing 😜. Tracy, Steve, and their adorable sidekick, Stella the French Bulldog, are the perfect hosts. Their warm welcome is like a hug from an old friend. We were even treated to a VIP tour of their farmyard, complete with day old baby ducklings and a mother goose with a protective attitude. The river that meanders through the meadow is a hidden gem. It's a world away from the urban grind, a place to spot frolicking frogs, elusive coypu, and the most beautiful dragonflies that are just hanging out down by the water. Hours slipped by as we watched the world go by, a sense of peace washing over us. Leaving Camp Laurent was like tearing ourselves away from a beloved comfort blanket. It's a place that whispers relaxation, where time slows down and worries evaporate. If you're seeking a camping experience that's as far removed from the crazy crowds as possible, without sacrificing comfort or charm, then Camp Laurent is your Shangri-La. Trust us, your inner child (the grown-up version) will thank you. Thanks you for sharing with us 😁👍 Disclaimer: We WILL be back, with back up.

Disliked Not alot to dislike, at all.

Great little stop over campsite

Aug 2023

Liked This is an exceptionally good campsite behind a pub. It is well run and toilets are sparkling clean with access to water outside for drinking water or washing up duties. There is no shower but that doesn’t really matter as I just like being dirty anyway (just kidding, I have shower facilities on board my van ;)). The pub is really lovely old English pub and again is run well but, their was a local in there making most guest quite uncomfortable when they were going to the bar and at no time did the staff try and address that…. It my seem “fun” to have that one customer that’s a bit “unique” , …. that “ohhh him, that’s just old John having a giggle” but it made my whole table feel very uncomfortable and although we would absolutely go in for a drink and definitely stay at the site, we probably wouldn’t eat there again as it was high end price for some pub grub with “atmosphere” . I have also got to say the food was lovely and plentiful on 3 out of the 4 meals we had.

Disliked The customer that sat by the bar making most customers uncomfortable 🥴 Price for food was quite high but there was lots of it .

From the manager: Pleased to hear that you like the campsite and our facilities. With regard to your other comments, what can I say, not everyone likes everyone and that is just human nature so I can only apologise if you were some how offended. However, the customer you refer to is an older gentleman who has come to the pub all of his life, he lives alone and the pub and his dogs are quite literally his lifeline, even during covid he would walk to the pub to collect a takeaway and eat it on a bench on a footpath on route home. Now of course you would not know any of this, how could you, but the point I am trying to make is that perhaps we should all be a little less judgemental in this world and have some kindness, consideration and compassion for the older generation who are quite possibly lonely and crave some human interaction in a pub setting. He is completely harmless, is a loyal and long standing customer and makes an effort to talk to everyone and have a laugh and a joke with them. Your comments with regard to food are very contradictory as you state it is highly priced but that it was plentiful and of good quality?!? All of our food is homemade, cooked fresh to order and using quality ingredients and the price reflects that. We pride our business on fresh food not fast food. I hope you find a campsite with a pub on site that is more to your liking and budget with no older generation locals drinking or dining within it. Very best wishes Sophie.

Excellent site, beautifully and spaciously laid out. Friendly staff

Apr 2021

Liked An absolutely fantastic and well laid out Camp Site with big motorhome pictures and several grass pitches with electricity and water hookup. The site warden was very friendly and also very helpful, sorted a couple of our own issues out for us. We have already booked again for our next stay. There are lots of walks without going onto the road, a pub half a mile away And a fishing lake right on your doorstep. A very tranquil site. The food in the onsite restaurant was very good and it was great that they have an open ended marque to keep the chill at bay during the first week of being allowed to go out to eat post covid lockdown and the whole site is very well looked after with frequent visits by the warden to disinfect any touch points (taps/electric/bins).

Disliked Toilets / showers not open but that was due to Covid and we knew in advance to bring our own pop up toilet.
