Electric optional grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked We were recommended this campsite so we decided to give it a go. The tent camping looked really nice, with spaces on a grassy patch or amongst the trees. However, the motorhome and caravan pitches were not so nice.
Disliked I know this is woodland camping, but staring out at high density pine trees in a dark and dingy gravel pitch, surrounded by nettles and brambles is not my idea of fun.
The push button showers were too high so the limited jet of water splayed out too far. The walk around the plantation was ok, but nothing special. Expensive for what you got.

Liked What a gorgeous setting with far reaching views to the sea. The facilities are excellent, and there is absolutely nothing to dislike about this pop up campsite. We walked to the lovely beach on both days of our stay and swam in the sea.
Disliked It was little tight for our van to get down the lane to the site.

Liked There are fantastic views, and a huge field to pick a great spot. There are footpaths straight from the field, and the little supermarket is 5 minutes in the car.
Disliked I was disappointed to find there was no water available, especially as we had booked 4 days. It is mentioned in the Pitchup wording, but not as a bullet point, so I missed it during the booking. This is the first pop up we have been to without water, and it meant we couldn't stay more than 2 days. The owner kindly reimbursed me a day, but I do think it should have been clearer in the Pitchup advertising

Liked Beautiful farm with a river to swim in. Lots of birds, and plenty of space to park on the 200 acre site. The dog absolutely loved it, and spent three days with his nose on the ground looking for pheasants.
Disliked Nothing really. Maybe they could cut some of the branches back on the tracks so they didn't scratch the vehicles.

From the manager: HI Harriet, Many thanks for the excellent review! We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you next time. With reference to your note about the showers, we currently have a planning application in for a new facilities building which will include more showers plus other great facilities such as a reception and shop. A small charge is made for showers to avoid long queues. If the showers are free of charge, many campers will stay under the water flow for long periods of time regardless of other campers who may be waiting patiently outside the door. All the best, The team @ Newgale Campsite

Liked Clean and tidy. Well ordered and maintained
Disliked Rather dull and sterile. Not much fun, and the host, whilst perfectly civil, made no attempt to be particularly welcoming or hospitable, unlike our previous site where the hosts could not have been friendlier.

Liked We liked everything. The owner of this campsite was lovely, which makes such a difference when you roll up to a campsite. The shower block was clean and nice to use. The huge field nex to the site was great for my dog to run in, so there was nothing more we needed.
Disliked Nothing.

Liked What a view. It is quite something, and there's plenty of space to find the perfect spot. Kit Hill is just next door, so we had a great walk with the dog. Tracey was a lovely host. We will be back.
Disliked It's bit basic, but we knew that before we booked. There wasn't really anything I didn't like, although £5 for a small dog wad a bit steep.
