From the manager: Hello Susan, it's good to read that you enjoyed your stay at Lakeside and found it peaceful. We are indeed very rural so a bar or restaurant, although nice, would not really be viable all year round. The closest local, which is around is 2.8 miles away is a very popular gastro pub and during the day there are the cafes and restaurants at Castle Howard itself. Malton, which advertises itself as 'the food capital of North Yorkshire' is just five miles.

Liked It would have been 5 stars but there was really nothing to do on evening. Staff were very helpful and friendly as we're the 2 goats, cickens and cats. Great having showers,and Wasing up stations with hot water even heated towel rail. The fridge was also a great help . Would recommend it

Disliked The bar is oly open certain days
