Whitby, North Yorkshire, England
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Great location for visiting Whitby and the surrounding area. Beautiful views of the sea and the Abbey.
There is plenty of space to pitch up wherever you want.
Disliked Unfortunately quite noisy with drunk people coming back to the site in the early hours.
Toilet facilities weren’t very clean.

Skipton, North Yorkshire, England
Non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch
Liked Great location close to Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales. The views are fabulous when you drive down to the site, we had to stop to take pictures.
You are able to choose your own pitch, there is plenty of level space and the site doesn’t feel crowded. Lots of different areas to choose from, whether you want to be by a lake or higher up to enjoy the views.
There are 3 lakes, 2 of which you can swim and paddle board in and there is also a sauna you can book online.
The facilities are all modern and cleaned regularly.
Richard was great and came round a couple of times to check everything was alright.
We will definitely visit again soon, a beautiful and friendly site.
Disliked Nothing to dislike

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Excellent location for visiting Whitby and the Brewery.
Campsite was kept tidy throughout our stay. Bins emptied regularly and the toilets were kept stocked with toilet paper, hand soap and paper towels.
Nice and peaceful in the evening despite the number of people there.
Able to choose where you pitch.
Disliked Toilets were a bit busy in the morning.
Would have been good if there were showers so we could have stayed longer but it is advertised that there aren’t any so can’t complain.

Caernarfon, Gwynedd, Wales
Electric grass tent pitch
Liked We received a warm welcome from the warden when we arrived and a tour of the facilities. There are information boards with walks around the farm and the area, also directions to the local pub.
The site was immaculate and looked lovely.
Our pitch was large, level and had beautiful views of the mountains.
The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and the showers were excellent. There was also a washing up area with, fridges/freezers, washing machines and a microwave.
The site had a little shop where you could buy produce from the farm, snacks, ice cream and basics that you may need. They have fire pits you can hire and sell logs and kindling. The pitches all have a concrete slab for your fire so the grass stays nice and keeps the fire away from the tents.
The site is located a short 4 mile drive from Caernarfon where there are at least 3 big supermarkets that we saw. There is a petrol station about 2 miles from the site which has an excellent shop too. It’s a short drive to a lot of lovely places, our favourites were Llanberis and Beddgelert.
We would definitely like to stay again, a week wasn’t long enough to see everything we wanted to.
Thank you for a brilliant stay.
Disliked Price of kindling was a bit high for what you got.
The farmer was spreading lime on the fields which was blowing across the site one day, it covered everything and meant we had to sit inside, but I guess this not a regular occurrence

Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham, England
Electric optional hardstanding pitch
Liked Laid back campsite with nice hot showers. The site is well situated near the A1M for travelling around to see the area.
The site is right behind the Hammer and Pincers inn which serve excellent meals.
Disliked The proximity to the high speed train track, woken up a few times by loud heavy trains, but you probably get used to them.
Pitches were a bit uneven for tents

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked A lovely quiet site based in Horton in Ribblesdale. The site is about a mile from the village and there are a couple of nice walks to get there. In the village there are two pubs both serving food.
The site is big so there is plenty of space to pitch up, lots of different little areas, so there is plenty of space between tents.
The showers and toilets are basic, but clean and well maintained. Bring a torch as some of the toilets don’t have lights.
A great place to stay if you are walking or wanting to explore the surrounding area.
Disliked The only downside we found was the site was very boggy after a lot of rain, but this would probably be the same on any site, wouldn’t put us off coming again though.
