Set on a hilltop high above Florence, the top feature of Camping Village Panoramico surely has to be its vista towards the city’s historic rooftops, which lie a very handy seven kilometres away. Set in wooded grounds filled with acacia, oak, pine, poplar and olive trees, this Chianti hills setting is just outside the ancient city of Fiesole and equidistant from Siena and Pisa; you're within easy reach of San Gimignano, Volterra, Lucca and Arezzo too. Day trips into Florence are a piece of cake: it's under half an hour's drive away from the city. For long leisure-filled days back at base, start off with breakfast at the poolside bar; once you've had your morning coffee, turn your attention to the good-sized pool, which provides a pleasant place for cooling dips and swims between lengthy lounges on the sun loungers. The restaurant serves classic Tuscan meat and fish specialities and tasty Tuscan pizzas to take away, or for something of the self-catered variety, food (and non-food items) can be sourced at the site's mini market.

Brilliant views of Florence and top location for city trips, with a handy bus shuttle. Staff are lovely, food's good, and the pool's a treat. Toilets are a bit tired, and the road up can be tricky for bigger vans.

Liked Sehr tolle Lage mit grandioser Aussicht. Tiptop gegessen im Restaurant. Schöner Pool für die Abkühlung.

Disliked Sanitäre Anlagen sauber, aber in die Jahre gekommen. Angebot im Laden eher dürftig.

Liked Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die terassenförmig angelegten Plätze waren interessant und für uns mir dem WoMo wunderbar ausreichend. Unkomplizierter Shuttle Service zum Bus nach Fiesole und von dort für lediglich 1,70 Euro nach Florenz, perfekt!

Disliked Die Sanitäranlagen haben sicherlich mal bessere Zeiten gehabt! Italienisches Flair mit a gebauten Waschbecken und nur mit a paper zugestopften Rohren. Dass das müffelt ist ja mal klar...

Liked Vista panorámica espectacular de Florencia, Todos los servicios . Piscina grande con zona de hamacas al lado del bar-restaurante. Muy amables . Tienen servicio de traslado gratuito hasta el autobús que te baja a Florencia.

Disliked Que fuera del horario de su servicio de transporte llegar al camping te obliga a coger taxi y no es barato .

Liked Friendly staff , they run a free shuttle bus from the reception to local town , where you can catch the number 7 bus to Florance ,excellent

Disliked Tight for motorhomes steep angle on approach , need to realigned to save bottoming out of you have a long over hang.

Not enough parasol or shade around pool if you don t like the sun.

Disliked Las instalaciones estaban un poco dejadas, les hace falta una puesta a punto.
La escasa sombra de la piscina ya que solo tenía un árbol y podrían poner más árboles o toldos, sombrillas etc.
El ruido del aire acondicionado del bungalow de al lado no nos dejaba dormir por la noche. No deberían estar pegando los bungalows a la zona de camper y tiendas
La escasa oferta del supermercado
La escasa y regular oferta del bar en la hora de las comidas
La antigüedad de los baños
El precio desorbitado de las cenas del restaurante que es un establecimiento tipo camping.

Exit at Firenze Sud A1 and follow signs to the city centre. Only after the first roundabout should you turn on the Satnav and write: Via Augusto Righi and/or Piazza Edison and follow directions for Fiesole. Only take Via Di San Domenico.

First things first: head down to Fiesole (five minutes' drive), and have a good long wander around its small and ancient town centre to see sights including Roman bath ruins, a Roman amphitheatre with festivals and events throughout the summer months, and the hilltop upon which Leonardo da Vinci first experimented with the concept of flight. And then, of course it should be off to the centre of Florence (25 minutes) with you, to check out spectacular historic spots such as the Piazza del Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Michelangelo's statues of David and Dawn and Dusk. Whether you fancy a tour of the surrounding hills and wineries, a day trip to Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Lucca or Arezzo, or sunbathing sessions at one of the beaches that lie along the Etruscan coast, getting out and about around the rest of Tuscany is a cinch from here.
