Zsóry Liget Camping and Resort

When you're not splashing about or relaxing in the Zsóry complex's 22 different pools, you might like to head out cycling to Lake Tisza, the edge of which is an easy 20-minute drive away. Alternatively, take your wheels to nearby Lake Tisza Ökocentrum (25 minutes from site), an eco-centre in Poroszló showcasing some of the region's most interesting wildlife. The surrounding district is well known for its folklore and handicrafts, which you can learn more about at the Matyó Museum in the centre of Mezőkövesd (10 minutes' drive). There are lots of places to pick up colourful handcrafted souvenirs in the town, which is also home to speciality shops selling top-notch local wines. There's also a local open-air museum, the Hajdu Ráfis János Mezőgazdasági Gépmúzeum Mezőkövesd (five minutes), that's packed with vintage machines and vehicles. If you're looking to roam further afield, Zsóry Liget Camping and Resort is within an hour's drive of both the caves, mountains and forests of Bükki National Park and the expansive plains and wetlands of Hortobágyi National Park. For urban adventures, the gorgeous Hungarian capital city, Budapest, can be reached within 90 minutes by either car or train.
